Spring is here! Maybe not on the Calendar, but most certainly in a Kamper's heart! So why not make your reservations today for the 2012 Kamping season! Here's to FUN and RELAXATION in 2012! Happy Kamping!

Come and enjoy the best of Indiana camping at the Elkhart County KOA! Our Big Rig-friendly pull-through RV sites are up to 70 feet long and feature 50-amp service. No RV? Enjoy a comfortable stay in one of our cozy cabins or lodges. We have plenty of beautiful tent sites available, too!

The Elkhart County KOA is a comfortable retreat from day-to-day pressures, centrally located near the home of the one of the nation's largest Amish communities. Enjoy the simple and quiet life of the Amish here in northern Indiana, visiting the local towns of Shipshewana and Middlebury where the clop-clop of the horse's hooves will bring back a feel of simple living. Experience the Shipshewana Flea Market, home of nearly 900 vendors and held on Tuesday and Wednesday every week from May through October. Our KOA offers shuttle service to the Flea Market for a small fee (5/15-9/15), so take advantage of this convenience and save your fuel and energy for the Flea Market itself. We also offer a shopping tour which runs on Thursdays (5/15- 9/15 ), taking you to all the back roads Amish shops, through Amish Farm country, and includes narration for you to learn more about the Amish lifestyle. You can also enjoy a self-guided CD tour of the Amish Heritage Trail provided by the local county visitor's center.

Elkhart County is also the "RV Capitol of the World" and you can enjoy the area by stopping at your favorite manufacturer for a tour of their plant. In addition, the RV/MH Hall of Fame is located just a few miles from us. We have many guests stay with us while they are having warranty work done on their RVs, turning a chore into a vacation!

Our KOA has much to offer, whether you come to visit the Amish, the RV Capitol, or just overnight. With so much to see and do, you could easily spend a week or two and never run out of things to experience! We also have activities on the campground for families to enjoy (Mother's Day Weekend-Labor Day Weekend only) while staying with us. Our "Themed" weekends are very popular, with Best-Decorated Site awards and fun-filled events to entertain you in the evenings after you have explored the area. Make your reservation today at our KOA!

Meet Your Hosts

Expect to be treated like family and be greeted with a smile when you arrive at the Elkhart Co./Middlebury Exit KOA! The Perkins originally are from the Boston area of the East Coast and are former ardent campers. "We give our guests the kind of service we would expect from a campground," Hope says.

Owner Hope Perkins (with her late husband Peter) purchased the campground in 2002. Previously, Hope worked for an ophthalmologist as an assistant, but both were ready for a lifestyle change and wanted to interact with people who were traveling. Hope throws her all into the campground and is proud of the many upgrades and changes they have made since purchasing in 2002.

Hope's son, Nick, known as "Boston," brings new life to the campground with his youth, energy, love of the outdoors and interest in today's ever-changing technologies. Nick can be seen darting all over the campground chasing a lawn mower or working on the latest projects. He is also in charge of our recently upgraded pool and all that goes with keeping it clean for our guests.

Hope and Nick are particularly proud of their extensive store that offers everything from RV supplies to great local souvenirs.

When the family is not traveling, they enjoy visiting with their guests, listening to music, reading, watching movies and scrap booking.
