General Campground Information

Amenities

We have many amenities to ensure our guests are comfortable.  Please view our amenity page for a full list.

Late Night Arrival

If arriving after 6 pm, please contact our front desk office at 530-495-2255 for information on sites, etc.

For those with RV or tent reservations and arrive after hours, an envelope with your information inside can be found hanging on the wall under the night registration sign to the left of the office door.  After hours check-in ends at 10:00 PM as quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 08:00 AM.  The vacation rental (Motel) and RV rental unit can check in until 08:00 PM only.  A key and walk through is required for these two units.

For those with no reservations but need a site after hours up to 10:00 PM, please use the "Night Registration" located to the left of the office door.  Pick an open site envelope.

Freeway Noise

Our campground was built right off Highway 395 for easy access for guests.  When making a reservation for our campground, please note the description of the sites, as some back up to the highway.  You are expected to hear highway noise.  For the majority of our guests, this has not been an issue as the traffic slows down in the evenings.

If you are a light sleeper, we do offer free earplugs upon request.  The basic tent sites are located near the highway with a wood fence between them.

Check-In and Check-Out

RVs and Tents - Check-In: 1:00 pm.  Check-Out: 11 am. For late check-out (from 11am to 3pm) there is an additional charge if your site is available.

Wildlife awareness

Various types of wildlife, big and small, may be in this campground.  Keep dogs on a leash when walking on the trails, keep food secure and stored properly, and make sure trash is enclosed in the trashcan with the lid closed.

Granite cliff rocks

We have large granite cliff rocks behind our property which are for viewing only. Please do not attempt to climb the cliffs as they are unstable. There are hiking trails around the cliffs to the town of Coleville, and you are welcome to enjoy those trails.  We have a walking trail to our private access to the Walker River.

Scott Burkard and Tim Tack

Arrive as Strangers, Leave as Friends

After years of RVing, Tim and Scott decided to purchase an RV Park.  In January 2019 they came across this gem known as the Meadowcliff Lodge and Coleville/Walker KOA.  The Coleville/Walker KOA has been honored to have earned both President's and Founder's KOA Awards every year since joining the KOA family of campgrounds. Tim and Scott look forward to serving you, your family and friends here at the Coleville/Walker KOA.
