Historic Savannah

Touted as one of the 10 best walking cities in America, Savannah is steeped in history and heritage, with more than 1,400 restored structures within a 2.2 square-mile area designated as a National Historic Landmark District. In addition to self-guided walking tours, you can climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage tour, trolley tour or riverboat cruise to see the sights.

Beaches (Tybee, Jekyll Island, Hilton Head)

Tybee Island is home to the original Tybee Lighthouse dating to 1733, one of the first public structures in the state. The island is fun to explore and its white sand beach is great for watersports of all kinds, with fishing from the pier and deep-sea charters available. Jekyll Island was once the playground of America’s millionaires.

Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

This popular area attraction was first built in 1896.

Andrew Low House

Built in 1848 -1849, Andrew Low was a wealthy cotton merchant of Liverpool and Savannah. This is a mid- century mansion which contains a most notable collection of classical furnishings.

Old Fort Jackson

The oldest standing brick fort in Georgia. The Fort maintains a theater presentation,museum,11 different cannons from various periods and year-round educational programs. Location is two miles east of downtown savannah.

Fort McAllister State Historic Park

Fort McAllister State Historic Park is located on the south bank of the Ogeechee River, Serving as a camp and hunt site for the Native Americans from prehistoric times. It guarded the back door to savannah during the Civil War. Park provides hiking and biking - 4.3 miles of trails, picnicking, saltwater fishing, and Fort Tours (call for reservations).
