General Campground Information

Going to the Sun Road

This has been a major attraction for visitors to this area, but keep in mind the road is open during the summer and you can check on the hours by going to "Going to the Sun" page on the internet.  You will also need a pass to drive over the highway during the peak season or key times of day.

Free Breakfast

We provide a free breakfast every morning between Memorial Day and Labor Day with a wide variety of ingredients in the Buffalo Bob building

Store Hours

During the summer, the store is open from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM and night registration information is posted when the store is closed.

Check-in and Check-out times

Posted check in time is 12:00 noon and check out time is 11:00AM but please ask if you  need to arrive earlier or check out later and we will try to assist you with your plans.

Metro area

Our KOA is located in a rural setting, at US Highway 123 mile marker, just South of Whitefish.  Our area has three towns within a few miles of each other, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Kalispell, Montana.

Recreation

We have a wide variety of recreational facilities (over 20 items) with many highlights like 20 free fun bikes.

Gun control

Montana is a free-to-carry state for guns, but they are not allowed in public buildings.

Firewood Policy

Every site has a campfire area and firewood is for sale at the store.  Please do not bring any firewood with you because of the potential of carrying some unwelcome pests.

Pool Hours

We have an indoor/outdoor pool that is open from 10:00AM until 10:00 PM

Huckleberry harvest

This area is the home of wild huckleberries.  They can be purchased at local fruit stands or you can pick your own on US Forest Service property for your own use - check with local authorities.  Huckleberries are available almost all summer, depending upon your location and altitude.

Visitor Policy

One or two daytime visitors are welcome for no fee, but please check in at the office and follow the park rules

Air Transportation

Our area is served by a modern airport located in the center of the three towns, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Kalispell.  The official password (code) is FCA, standing for Flathead County Airport.  We are trying to get the airport known as the Glacier Park Airport, but most airlines list us as Kalispell, Montana.

Quiet Hours

We don't have rigid quiet hours but please respect your fellow campers and reduce the noise from your site by 10:00 PM.

RV Service

While we are in a fairly rural area, we have a significant number of RV dealers and service centers, where you can obtain well qualified service.

Fishing

There are a number of local lakes that provide lake fishing, as well as tour companies that welcome the opportunity to prepare a charted fishing trip.  We also have lots of small streams, great for all types of stream fishing from the shore.  Just be aware of local property ownership and utilize the many governmental access areas.

Food Service

We have a large number of restaurants ranging from fast food, like McDonalds, to gourmet service from locally owned establishments.
