Meet Your Hosts
CloseKimberly and Oscar Carranza couldn't be happier as owners of the Twin Falls/Jerome KOA in Jerome, Idaho. After spending many years in the corporate world as an accounting manager and an executive assistant in California, Oscar and Kim were ready for a lifestyle change. "Camping had always been a hobby of ours. When we gave thought to the campground industry, we knew we wouldn't settle for anything but a KOA campground," said Kim.
The Carranzas first stop in Idaho was Shoshone Falls, where they instantly fell in love with the rainbows created by the waterfall's mist. On September 14, 2005, after leaving their longtime residence of Southern California, the Carranzas became KOA campground owners. Along with their two children, Oscar's parents and Oscar's brother, Kimberly and Oscar started their new life at the Twin Falls/Jerome KOA. "We have three generations of our family working here at our KOA; it's really special," said Kim.
With the help of their family, the Carranzas experienced a great first year. "Our KOA matches us perfectly; a small town feel with big city entertainment just around the corner. Everyone has been working very hard and having lots of fun". Kim spends most of her time in the café and Oscar spends most of his on the golf cart, chatting with campers. "We love the people; they bring us the most joy."
The Carranzas recently remodeled the campground store, which is their favorite part of the campground. "The store is the "hub" of our KOA. It's where we get the opportunity to meet our guests and engage them personally," said Oscar. "Our goal is to give 110% every day to every camper."
When not working hard at their campground, Oscar and Kim can be found camping, volunteering with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, reading, woodworking, or quilting.
