Making Magical Memories!
Kamping is "Sioux-per" at the Sioux City North KOA! Conveniently located off I-29, Exit 2 and Exit 4 in South Dakota, this beautiful park offers large full-hookup pull thru sites with 30/50-amp electricity, cable TV, free Wi-Fi, laundry, Kamping Kabins, Studio Lodges, tent camping, LP gas and supplies.
We are open year round, with limited facilities from November 16 - March 31. There are restaurants, gas, casinos, museums, historical centers, theaters, and shopping nearby. Anglers and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy themselves at the nearby Missouri and Big Sioux rivers. Swim in the heated pool or relax under the open-air pavilion. Those looking for some friendly competition can engage in a round of on-site mini golf, tetherball, horseshoes or basketball, and the little ones can play at the playground. Take a stroll along the paved walking trail or ride one of the rental bikes. Activities abound through the summer and fall. Enjoy the campground's great people, great camping and great fun!
Meet Your Hosts
Some would think that purchasing a campground on October 31st would be a scary endeavor, but not for Dave, Jolene and Chris Queen, who in 2007 did just that.
No strangers to the RV world, since they have owned an independent RV Park for over 12 years, they were looking for a way to double the fun.
"We have enjoyed running our independent RV park and were looking for a way to meet more great people", says Dave, "and this campground gives us perfect opportunities."
The kids are really where the joy of the campground is. "To see the kids, with their great sense of adventure and being able to be part of that adventure, makes each day here fun," says Jolene.
"We want to create memories for everyone that visits our park," says Chris, "We love the interaction and being part of the enthusiasm that they have for camping and RVing."
With beautiful landscaping, wonderful amenities and nice pull thru sites, the Sioux City North KOA has become a new home away from home for the Queens'. However when they do take a break of this exciting life you can find them bicycle touring on the open road, practicing archery and are very active in their church.

Many exciting attractions and activities await you in the Siouxland area and at Sioux City North KOA. Stay a day, a week, a month, or stay all season. Several of the attractions listed here can be combined into a 1-day trip. We will be glad to make recommendations, give directions or share our experiences of traveling in Siouxland based on how much time you are able to spend with us. If you want to just relax, spend the day at the campground swimming, mini-golfing or just sit under one of our many shade trees looking at the abundant flowers or surf the Internet in front of a crackling campfire. Whatever you decide to do, you will be happy you took the time to visit our area.
Explore North Sioux City
Start your visit in North Sioux at Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve, a 1500-acre park featuring one of the last free-flowing segments of the Missouri River. Established in 1872, it includes the family's original farmhouse, a historic barn and miles of hiking and biking trails.
North Sioux City is the Las Vegas of the Siouxland area, featuring more than 13 video casinos. If you love video gambling, you will love the excitement of North Sioux City.
If you are a racing fan, NASCAR Winston Racing Series runs each weekend May - October.

War Eagle Monument
The Siouxland area refers to a tri-state area, IA, NE, and SD. You may see all three states by visiting the War Eagle Monument. War Eagle is located in Sioux City, IA, high on one of the bluffs. As you stand in IA you may look across the Big Sioux River and see the valley of North Sioux City, SD and across the Missouri River to see South Sioux City, NE. Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center
Your entire family will enjoy the hands-on exhibit area allowing a look at Loess Hills geological formations, native plants and animals. Dorothy Pecaut is located on the Loess Hills Scenic Byway. Visit the Woodbury County Conservation Board online for more information.
Sioux City Art Center
A beautiful three-story glass atrium, featuring a hands on gallery for children and a 900 piece permanent art collection. Traveling collections are also on display. Visit the Sioux City Art Center online for more information.
Trinity Heights
View a 33-foot stainless steel statue of Jesus, a 30-foot statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Peace, in an outdoor park featuring gardens and walkways. There are over 30 artworks depicting Christian history. St. Joseph Center houses a life-size wood carving of the Last Supper. Trinity Heights is a must see.
Sioux City Public Museum
Built in the early 1890's from pink colored Sioux Falls quartzite, the Pierce Mansion houses artifacts from American Indian life and the early settlers of the region to present day. Visit the Sioux City Public Museum online for more information.
Orpheum Theatre

Sioux City Explorers Baseball Club
Lewis and Clark Park has been the home of the Explorers Baseball Club since 1993. Plan to see a game.
Sioux City Musketeers Hockey Club
A US Hockey League team plays at the Sioux City Municipal Auditorium. The season is from October - April. See the Sioux City Musketeers online for more information.
Argosy Casino
Three decks of gambling fun on a riverboat, where you can play slots, video slots, craps, roulette, blackjack, poker and Caribbean stud. Open twenty-four hours. Sergeant Floyd River Museum and Welcome Center
Visit the Sergeant Floyd River Museum and Welcome Center. Housed inside a diesel inspection ship that floated the Missouri River for 50 years as the flagship of the US Army Corps of Engineers construction fleet, is a museum displaying the history of the Missouri River. One of the largest displays of scale Missouri River steamboats and keelboats models in America also makes its home here. The Lewis and Clark expedition is highlighted also. Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center
Lewis and Clark and their group of explorers traveled through the Siouxland area. Experience their travels by visiting the Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center where you may choose to be one of the explorers facing his challenges as you visit each exhibit. Traveling with children? The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center is an educational experience.
Sergeant Floyd Monument
Sergeant Floyd, the only one of the exploration party to die during the Lewis and Clark expedition, was buried on the bluffs overlooking the Missouri River. A 100-foot tall white stone obelisk marks Sergeant Floyd's gravesite. The obelisk was the first registered National Historic Landmark in the United States. Lewis and Clark an American Tradition
A permanent exhibit of Lewis and Clark mural paintings is on display at Southern Hills Mall. It is the largest collection of original Lewis and Clark paintings measuring 296 feet in length.
Sioux City Riverfront
Enjoy a stroll or bike ride along the riverfront. Take a break on one of the benches at the Rose garden or under the pavilion. Historic Fourth Street
Many turn-of-the-century buildings have been renovated to house unique shops and restaurants. Activities such as Awesome Harley Nights and Beach parties light up the night on Historic Fourth Street. Visit the Sioux City Tourism website for more information.
Loess Hills Scenic Byway
This unique landscape embraces the eastern flank of the Missouri River Valley. Touring the Loess Hills will provide an educational blend of the past and present. Automobile tours offer ridge-top views of the valley, the Loess Hills woodlands, prairies and other natural landmarks. Ice Cream Capital of the World
Lemars, IA is the home of Wells' Dairy, makers of Blue Bunny Ice Cream. Wells' Museum explains the history of Ice Cream and Wells' Dairy. After your tour, enjoy a treat in the 1920's style Ice Cream Parlor.
First Election West of the Mississippi by US Citizens
On August 22, 1904, Lewis and Clark camped near present day Elk Point, SD. It was there that Patrick Gass was elected to replace Sergeant Floyd, who the explorers had just buried in Sioux City, IA. A Lewis and Clark Wayside Exhibit commemorates the election in pictorial plaques of life along the Trail and historical flags of all nations who have governed their area.
Dutch Windmill Visitors Center - Orange City, Iowa
A Windmill stands 76-feet tall, with a dome weighing five tons and vanes weighing over 7 tons. Orange City is the home of the Tulip Festival in May. Visit the Windmill online for more information.
Also located in Orange City is The Old Factory, located in the old wooden shoe factory, where you can see a demonstration, live or video, on the art of carving wooden shoes. You may purchase a pair available in 20 wearable sizes. Call 712-707-4242 for more information.
Gavins Point Dam and Yankton, SD
Travel the Lewis and Clark Trail to Yankton, SD and enjoy another Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Take in the beautiful sights of Lewis and Clark Lake and Gavins Point Dam.
Stop along the way in Vermillion, SD to visit Spirit Mound and the W.H. Over Music Museum.
Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve
Spanning 1,500 acres along the Missouri River, with more than 10 miles of trails, this area was envisioned as a "place for inner renewal." The Preserve hosts a number of nature programs throughout the year and features several restored buildings such as the original home, barn, country school and church, containing many of the original furnishings, taking the visitor back in time, the area seems to come alive with history. Wildlife viewing blinds, displays in the visitor center and nature programs all add to the experience. Guided golf cart tours are available by reservation for visitors with physical limitations.
