Santa Claus is Coming...to the San Diego KOA! You won't want to miss this magical weekend. Join us Saturday afternoon for decorating gingerbread cookies that you can eat and Saturday evening entertainment and hot chocolate! Then wake up Sunday morning for breakfast at the Sandcastle Cafe with the big man himself! Santa will be looking for you during breakfast to hear if you've been naughty or nice. He'll be available for photos and to listen to your Christmas wishes. He may even have a Christmas treat for you!
The Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show is back, promising another spectacular display over San Diego Bay. Fireworks will be discharged simultaneously from barges placed strategically around the Bay off Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Embarcadero North, Seaport Village, Embarcadero South Marina Park, Coronado Ferry Landing and Imperial Beach. The impeccably choreographed display will last approximately 17 minutes.More than 850,000 people are expected to come to the waterfront to watch the show and the Port of San Diego strongly encourages carpooling or taking the San Diego Trolley. San Diego horse racing takes place where the "turf meets the surf" at the Del Mar Racetrack. Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the popular, annual Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racing season, mid-July - early-September. Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and Seabiscuit won by a nose in the infamous race in 1938. This season features the nation's top race horses, trainers and jockeys, and plenty of fun in the sun.The races run five days weekly, except Monday and Tuesday.
