Alamo
Erected in 1718 as a church and fortress, it became the symbol of Texas independence. During the Texas-Mexican Independence War in 1836, it was defended and lost to the last Texan. Soon "Remember the Alamo" became synonymous with Texas Independence.
Paseo Del Rio - San Antonio's River Walk
The river walk is a 2.5-mile cobblestone pathway along the bank on the San Antonio River located in the heart of town. Walkways lead visitors to river-level shops, restaurants and nightclubs. You can view the River Walk from a relaxing gentle ride down the San Antonio River with the Yanaguana Cruise.
La Villita
The charm of the "Little Village," located one square block from the heart of San Antonio, should be savored. Institute of Texas Cultures

The Hertzberg Circus Museum
The Hertzberg Circus Collection and Archives consist of over 20,000 items: artifacts, prints, memorabilia, posters, lithographs, handbills, photographs, recordings, sheet music, audio and video tapes, books and magazines.
San Fernando Cathedral
This is the oldest Cathedral in the nation. Located downtown across from the County Courthouse.
IMAX Theatre
This theatre features the story of the Defenders or the Alamo on its six- story screen with six-track stereo sound. Also shows full length movies at 8:00 p.m. everyday. 3-D and other specialty films.

United States Army Medical Department Museum
The Museum collection consists of Army medical equipment (including captured medical equipment used by foreign armies), uniforms, artwork, photographs, and scales models. The Museum is also assembling a collection of restored and replica ambulance vehicles. Also on display is a significant collection of American prisoner-of-war memorabilia and equipment which illustrates the continuing care and "service above self" which is the foundation of Army medicine. The Museum has the improvised medical instrument set used by then Captain Thomas Hewlett to treat his fellow prisoners in Japan during World War II, as well as Army Nurse Corps prisoner-of-war material from the Philippines.

Alamo Classic Car Museum
Texas' largest and most popular auto museum showcasing antique, classic, exotic, sports pedal cars, fire trucks, motorcycles, motor bikes, scooters, antique tools, baby buggies, toys and more.
Cascade Caverns
Texas' only cavern with 100' waterfall. Cascade Caverns is a "fairyland" of fragile, delicate, and crystal clear formations. The Cavern is water-formed with millions of glistening drops of pure Water reluctantly falling on spectacular rock formations. A designated historical marker, the cavern's 100' waterfall is the grand finale of a 45 minute guided tour. Open daily year round with a constant 68 degree temperature. Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar Situated in the ruins of a 100 year old cotton gin overlooking the Guadalupe River in Historic Gruene.
Gruene Hall
Gruene Hall is Texas' Oldest Dance Hall. The Hall was instrumental in starting the careers of many singers and has hosted many famous singers and events. Of special note is the film "Michael", starring John Travolta, whose dance scene was filmed in Gruene Hall.
San Antonio Zoo
The San Antonio Zoo is an accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association. With 3,400 animals representing 700 species, it is also one of the largest collections in the country. The exhibits are displayed in the naturalistic settings created by the tree-lined San Antonio River and the limestone cliffs of an old rock quarry.
San Antonio Museum of Art
One of the largest in the southern United States, the museum specialized in Egyptian, Greek, and Roman antiquities, Asian art, Latin American folk art and 18th and 19th century American paintings. The museum also offers an active schedule of major traveling exhibitions, special events, and cultural festival.

Here's a clip from the San Antonio Rodeo run. 39 degrees and more than 1500 runners. Our very own James Hoch aka "The Pizza Man" ran and finished 4th in his division. Notice the KOA shirt James is sporting with the new KOA 50th anniversary logo.

Horseshoe tournament with trophies for 1st through 3rd place. A Belly Flop contest for all ages with trophies for 1st through 3rd place. Tug of war in the mud pit! Pony races, tree legged races and sack races. Ice cream social and for one night only our very own "Let's Make A Deal" KOA Style with fabulous prizes including a trip around the world, new cars and trucks, food, free camping and a whole lot of laughter!
San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo February 7th through 24th, 2013
The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo takes place at the AT&T Center. The fun-filled, family festival consists of many events, including the rodeo, livestock show, horse show, live concerts, carnival, dancing, shopping and more.
