From this shady, quiet campground in the heart of Utah, head along old U.S. 89 to explore small towns along the state's Heritage Highway. See the towering, ornate Manti Temple and Big Rock Candy Mountain that inspired Burl Ives to write a song. Fish in clear, cold Fish Lake, then drive through Capitol Reef National Park. Enjoy history? Don't miss Fremont Indian State Park, where a prehistoric village was unearthed in 1983. Continue on to Cove Fort Historic Site, a way station for travelers in 1867, now restored to its original quality. The campground is close to it all-and a short drive to restaurants and grocery stores. Rent bikes, swim in the pool, shoot pool in the game room or play mini golf, horseshoes or basketball.

The Richfield KOA was a place Ray and Lora Jones loved to visit, with the green stretch of land, perfect for riding their ATV's. When the opportunity arose for them to purchase the campground, they turned their favorite weekend getaway into their daily lives.

Before purchasing the campground, Ray spent 29 years in the auto collision repair industry and Lora worked as the school district cafeteria manager for two decades. After many years of hard work, they were ready for a different lifestyle. In March of 2005, they decided to buy the campground they had enjoyed for so long.

Ray and Lora were initially attracted to the campground because of the green trees and the wealth of shade. They take pride in how clean and well landscaped the campground continues to be and they find success in staying true to their number one customer service rule: "We try our hardest to escort every camper to their site." Escorting the camper(s) to their site gives them the opportunity to engage in conversation and make them feel welcome at Richfield KOA. "Besides, the sooner a camper is in their site, the sooner they start to relax and enjoy."

Ray and Lora are happy to provide campers with the same positive experience they felt camping at Richfield.
