You'll need to rest up to see all this area has to offer!

Thank goodness for the comfortable campsites along the Little Pigeon River at this KOA. You'll need to rest up to see all this area has to offer! Start with Dollywood theme park (your hosts have discount tickets: two days for the price of one). Enjoy wild rides, a musical theater, the Dolly Parton Museum, local crafts, dozens of shops and wonderful restaurants. Then cross the road to Dollywood's Splash Country for a load of water fun. Leave your vehicle behind and take the city trolley right from KOA to the Dollywood entrance and also through the city. Clap along with lots of great musical shows in the neighborhood, including the Dixie Stampede. Lace up ice skates at the Ober Gatlinburg resort's indoor ice rink or put on hiking boots and set out into the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains.

Meet Your Hosts

Your campground hosts are happy to welcome you to the Pigeon Forge KOA. We are a mother-daughter team, Ann & Heather. Mom has been in this business, owning/operating the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg KOA going on 46 years this year. I have been there almost 34 years of those. We are proud recipients of the President's Award for many years. We received the Franchisee of the Year Award in 1986 as well. We try to keep things ran the way we would want if we were our customers. Big smiles and great attitudes are first on our list. We are thankful for many years of excellence in camping and hope that the camping world still sees our campground as their home away from home.

Thank you,
Ann & Heather

Sevierville

Douglas Lake is located in the foothills northeast of Sevierville, attracting nearly two million visitors a year. Surrounded by mountains and rolling hills, Douglas Lake offers a variety of activities year-round such as boating, swimming and fishing. Fish species include bass, crappie and minnow. Birdwatchers enjoy the fall migration of shore birds, wading birds, and other waterfowl that flock to Douglas from late July to early October.

The Memorial Riverwalk Trail is a one-mile path along the west branch of the Little Pigeon River in Sevierville.

Foothills Parkway Attractions

The Foothills Parkway is a scenic highway planned back in the 1930s. Following the crest of Chilhowee Mountain, the Scenic Foothills Parkway West begins at U.S. 321, and travels to the Chilhowee Reservoir.

Chilhowee Mountain traces the line of the Great Smokies Fault, the tectonic plate that created these mountains in volcanic upheavals millions of years ago. Fossils are missing from most of the area rocks because these mountains formed before hard-bodied plants and animals developed.

Look Rock is an off-the-beaten path destination just off the Parkway. The observation ledge looks out across the valley to Gregory Bald on the right and Thunderhead on the left. The 1.2-mile trail leads to an even more commanding view from a lookout tower atop the mountain.

Chilhowee Lake lies at the end of the Foothills Parkway in the western corner of the Park. Ideal for fishing, this mountain lake contains trout, bass, crappie and bluegill. Canoeing is also a popular activity.

Golfing

Golfing in the Great Smoky Mountains is reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands where the game originated 200 years ago. This magnificent setting attracts golfers drawn by our scenic beauty and pleasant four-season climate, but the primary attraction to mountain golf are lush fairways, sprawling bent grass greens, cool breezes, and a gently undulating terrain. Nearly 20 golf courses are located nearby.
