Great place to stay. So many things to do and see.

The best KOA we have encountered so far!

Overall it was a good stay. Just a couple of issues. First of all, the sites are very close to each other with little room to back into the site. Secondly there were kids everywhere, which would be fine if the parents watched them instead of turning them loose to dart in front of your vehicle when you’re trying to park your RV. Also KIA does not enforce some of their rules.

Fantastic campground. Pool and playgrounds were clean and well kept and the private bathrooms / showers were a huge upgrade from out tiny little camper shower. Loved that our site was directly next to comfort station #1 because it made our week long stay more comfortable. The kids LOVED the gaga ball pit. There were there every night. Staff was friendly and helpful.

What a fun place to stay. You never run out if things to do!

Lots to do at the park. Restroom facilities are new and very clean. Wi-Fi could use some band with. Due to there location could not pick up and air channels and had no cable access. Site were level

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Complaints: no direct path to the bathroom from our site. There’s no walking path connecting the outer roads to the middle where the bathroom is, which would have been REALLY nice in the middle of the night. Also, the horse smell was STRONG at times. And our site was backwards, with the table/fire on the back side of our camper. (Site 19)

there is a lot of things for kids to do and keep busy with.the spaces to put big campers in were small and crowded.not mutch room for long campers, getting in and out of there sites.over all it is a good camp ground but expensive.

Great location. Restaurant on site was very good and reasonably priced

What a great place to base our travels to Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain, Custer State Park, Hill City, Deadwood and the Badlands. Everything was great from RV sites with great views, food, amenities, and activities. We'll be back!

This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Loved every part of my stay.

Beautiful rv park. Great views of the mountains and close to attractions.

Great KOA. Be aware… sites are VERY tight. Our mirror was broken off when someone was trying to pull in. However, this is by far one of the best KOA’s in the country. Their staff is wonderful… shout out to Steven who helped us find a longer site and helped us park.

First time camper, from the minute we pulled in they were so helpful getting the RV connected. Everything was extremely clean. Pool and hot tub was great! Played pickle ball too! Loved every minute!!

Great resort overall but the facilities could use a deep clean and some repairs. Bathroom and shower facilities were not cleaned daily and with the amount of people they pack in they should be cleaned at minimum twice daily. Laundry room was not clean at all and piles of discarded laundry were in the table from arrival to departure almost a week later. Lots to do and close to attractions.

very clean and the staff was GREAT!

Our site was not levelled not gravelled and very close to site 20.

Great park for families and anyone wanting to visit the nearby attractions. Everyone was supper friendly and helpful, from the check-in and getting to our site to allowing us to use the phone to make a call. Only issues happened to be a weak cell service but is not a deal breaker for us. WiFi worked a little but this is mostly a place to get away from technology for a few days. Loved the rodeo!

FANTASTIC location, amenities and rustic cabins - a great family destination for all ages!

Site and facilities were great except for low quality food and way too many flies.

Campsites were too close together and uneven for a motor home

We reserved a 50 ft site and was given a 30’ site and had to take our trailer to a holding yard. The place was nice with lot to do but very crowded since the sites were the smallest we’d ever stayed at. But all in all it worked for a couple nights but we’ve stayed in a lot better for less money.

This was our family reunion and our stay was fantastic! The amenities were wonderful and clean bathrooms and showers. The trails around the KOA were easy to access and beautiful! We went to the rodeo and had a fabulous time! I would have to say the only downfall was the fly's and the kids in the pool - we suggest having a kiddie pool and an adult pool would be better. As older adults that sucked!!

We were part of a family gathering. The resort provided abundant camping facilities but also a lodge which several of our friends enjoyed.

There is so much to do & see here, we stayed an extra day. Plan on three or four days. So much fun!

Everything was clean , just a little pricey. Poor internet and cable.

Great stay!!

Very unlevel spot first night way to crowded no Wi-Fi shower not very clean to much for not even a full hookup I will never stay there again

If you are looking for things to do,,, this is the place to stay. If ground transportation is an issue, rent a UTV. A bit expensive, but worth it. It’s a blast. Use your UTV to see and go to everything there is to do here. You will need three to four days here. This is a great place to stay.

Amazing! Staff was great, rodeo was fun, and the trail ride was priced well and amazing. Stayed 2 nights because of the staff and facilities.

Great facility! The pull through was a little tight. The maintenance guys were fantastic. We put together a truck rack for our kayaks and the factory predrilled holes were off in one section and these gentleman came to our rescue and helped us get it to work so we could head out! Thanks again!

The facilities are really quite wonderful for families overall it really is thoughtfully crafted but our experience with our particular campsite was that it was far too crowded And Hard to maneuver so we were happy to be leaving

Everyone is very nice and helpful.

Everything was great except the grass by #90 was not cut so we were unable to use the picnic table and fire pit due to mosquitoes. That is along the stream and there were swarms of them that sat outside our camper. We really needed that as we had the kids and needed the use of those. The activities and campground was perfect for kids other than that.

Enjoyed the Rodeo. Met some interesting people. Staff was very accommodating. Overall a very nice campground situated in a scenic place.

Too pricey for older people. Great place for kids. The roods and campsite need more gravel, had a mud hole right where you park. Great staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights, May 11th and 12th. Campground was super nice. We did get an upgraded site $66.00 a night. It had everything FHU, gas grill, fire pit and patio set. Can also rent a car which are at the campground so you don't have to unhook your rig to explore the area. Gulf cart rentals and ATV rentals, they have everything, lots to do. We were there during off season (before memorial weekend) so not everything was open yet. Would have been perfect location for our Mount Rushmore visit but due to road work on Highway 244 between MR and the campground we had to go the long way around. Doesn't look like the work will be done very soon. Restrooms were ok, nothing exciting, typical campground restroom and showers. If we travel this way again we would for sure stay here again.

My experiences at KOA's have not been great...up until this point. We planned a Mt Rushmore trip, and I am 100% happy we chose the KOA to stay. 3 days and 4 nights. We went over Memorial Day weekend. You will get rain and some inclement weather. We packed most of our food, but we did partake in the pancake breakfast. Kid loved it. We rented a UTV for an afternoon for 2hrs. Worth it. You go on the back trails, and if you are adventurous enough, go on the gnarly trails too. You can drive UTV's on the open road here as long as yours is street legal with plates, I believe. This was the perfect base camp for the following activities in the area: Mt Rushmore, Bear Country, Keystone, Hill City, Rapid City, The 1880 Train (the train was ok, good for kids who haven't been on an old steamer.) The camp grounds themselves are great! Pool, shopping, horseback riding, little shops to visit. We made some really great memories here. Thanks, KOA! PS: Keep in mind, this area is 'Merica friendly...In other words, treat people right and you'll be treated right. Do not play games with the locals, the black hills are vast. Just sayin.
