It was a beautiful campground in a beautiful part of our country. MANY activities all day long at the campground. Perfect base camp for motorcycle riding. Staff was attentive and helpful.

Stay was wonderful. Staff was great; especially Ernie! The only comment I would have is that we camped very close to the maintenance building and there were KOA trucks and golf carts going by constantly. Some were definitely not going the speed limit. Just took away from the charm of the area we were in.

Second year there and love it!! Wish the sites were a bit more level as we struggled to get our ice house level, but hope to come back again!

Impressive Koa, But the mini golf is in need of an update. It did not fit with the rest of the camp being so nice. Pool and hot tub was great.

This was our first time staying at a KOA and we absolutely loved everything about it! The only thing I can think of that would improve our stay would be to have gluten free options available at the food place that has the ice cream, a gluten free bun would have been awesome.

Met my son there and camped as a family. It was so peaceful and serene.

We paid for a pull through site yet; it was so tight we ended up having to back out anyways. It’s a beautiful campground; but deluxe sites are definitely more big rig friendly.

They moved me from the spot I originally booked. Also put a Motorhome in the small trailer site. Trees was a big issue and the parker was not trained to watch out for big rig parking. Will not go there again. Not good for a koa.

Lots to do at this KOA. Super friendly and helpful staff. Need more grass at the campsites.

Absolutely the best. It's location seemed to make everything 15 min away. The people are great and my day was not complete without a wave from Ernie on his way by escorting another happy glamper. The only negative is most center area RV spots lack shade. Ours had plenty so I felt sorry for some of the other spots. This is easily fixable with a trip to one of the pools.

Terrible WiFi, restaurant was dirty and the food was only adequate.

We had a great time and have already booked a second stay next Summer. This KOA is well run and was a great place to stay with 3 kids.

Perfect. You had everything I needed except for xxl shirts.

Friendly staff and good location to see Battlefield and move on to Yellowstone.

The place was nice and plenty to do. The bad thing was with a 42’ 5er it barely fit in the pull thru. The spaces were super tight

Lovely campground, centrally located for points of interest. Very kid-friendly.

The KOA staff was great! Especially: Jose at check in desk Becky at the store. We only made a purchase based on her feedback Renee at the bar Was extremely disappointed the Friday night of our stay the shuttle to the Monument was canceled. We only booked this KOA because of it.

Incredible campground! We will definitely be back and will be bringing a ton of friends and family!

Everyone was friendly and courteous and the campsite were excellent

Site was kind of short, nice park though, my biggest gripe was noise late at night, they did not seem to enforce quiet hours, one night after midnight somebody was riding an atv which broke down and they spent an hour messing with it noisily, the next night teenagers were screaming and yelling for 45 minutes at 2:30 am. The resort itself was great other than short tight sites.

Relaxing and quiet, great amenities for families with kids or just for a couple wanting to get away in a beautiful surrounding. Highly recommend it!

Our first time as a family at Palmer Gulch and our experience was excellent. Facilities are great for both children and adults with a variety of activities to keep us both busy.

One of the best

Huge KOA! Has literally everything! Could be a destination in itself. Will be back!

The campground is fabulous! However, WiFi was not good. So many times a campground advertises WiFi but don’t deliver. With the advances in technology, there is really no excuse for not delivering.

Loved the Rodeo!

The entire stay was amazing for our first-time camping. Staff and resort were both excellent. Great location as well.

This is our favorite koa. And because of the new pool I think it’s now the best koa anywhere.

I think the staff at KOA (Palmer Gulch) did a great job if we ever get over that way again we sure will stay at a KOA (Palmer Gulch) only downfall, which is not no big deal was the Internet was kind of iffy but other than that great four days

Stayed for a week. Great campground! Has everything. Horseback riding, pool, slide, bouncy pillow thing. utv rentals. Miles of trails surrounding property. Plenty to see and do at the campground and in the area. Kids didn’t want to leave. Definitely will return.

Sites were pretty flat but some were tiny. Only complaint is the sewer pipe on our full hookup site was too high. We had to empty our black tank on our way out which defeats the purpose of the full hook up. We rented a UTV to tour Needles highway - that was worth every penny! The campground hot tub was also nice after a day of hiking. On-site laundry was nice too!

Nice place for kids.

Stayed here for 2 nights, May 11th and 12th. Campground was super nice. We did get an upgraded site $66.00 a night. It had everything FHU, gas grill, fire pit and patio set. Can also rent a car which are at the campground so you don't have to unhook your rig to explore the area. Gulf cart rentals and ATV rentals, they have everything, lots to do. We were there during off season (before memorial weekend) so not everything was open yet. Would have been perfect location for our Mount Rushmore visit but due to road work on Highway 244 between MR and the campground we had to go the long way around. Doesn't look like the work will be done very soon. Restrooms were ok, nothing exciting, typical campground restroom and showers. If we travel this way again we would for sure stay here again.

My experiences at KOA's have not been great...up until this point. We planned a Mt Rushmore trip, and I am 100% happy we chose the KOA to stay. 3 days and 4 nights. We went over Memorial Day weekend. You will get rain and some inclement weather. We packed most of our food, but we did partake in the pancake breakfast. Kid loved it. We rented a UTV for an afternoon for 2hrs. Worth it. You go on the back trails, and if you are adventurous enough, go on the gnarly trails too. You can drive UTV's on the open road here as long as yours is street legal with plates, I believe. This was the perfect base camp for the following activities in the area: Mt Rushmore, Bear Country, Keystone, Hill City, Rapid City, The 1880 Train (the train was ok, good for kids who haven't been on an old steamer.) The camp grounds themselves are great! Pool, shopping, horseback riding, little shops to visit. We made some really great memories here. Thanks, KOA! PS: Keep in mind, this area is 'Merica friendly...In other words, treat people right and you'll be treated right. Do not play games with the locals, the black hills are vast. Just sayin.
