Chuck Wagon Supper Show
This open-air show takes place in a remote mountain meadow. You'll ride to the show on a horse-drawn covered wagon where you'll enjoy a Real Cowboy music show performed by local waddies and ranchers! Watch a real dough-boxer grill Dakota grown beef steaks over an aspen-wood camp fire and taste dutch-oven side dishes prepared right out of the chuck-box. This is Real Western family-fun under a big South Dakota sky! Reserve you spot soon!
The Black Hills is loaded with great cycling opportunities for all bikers. The Mickelson Trail is a world class hundred mile long rails-to-trails route just three miles from the campground. A thousand miles of single track and great roads make the Hills a biking paradise. The Outpost Bike Shop is located at the Fun Zone and rents Fun Cycles, Striders and Fat Bikes.
Palmer Gulch Stables
Enjoy the Black Hills on horseback! Several different trail rides are available for riders of all skill levels. Scenic rides are available through the Black Elk Wilderness Area and the Norbeck Wildlife Refuge. Reserve your ride starting the Friday before Memorial Day by calling (605) 574-3412.
Explore the trails of South Dakota's Black Hills with a UTV Rental. Miles of great forest service trails are right out our back door for your entire family to enjoy. Pack a cooler, some snacks and embark on a Black Hills Adventure. Inquire about rentals at the Concierge desk.
Enjoy 4 shopping experiences at Palmer Gulch. The KOA Main Store, at the park entrance, is set up with convenience, souvenir, RV/camping supplies and more. Grapes and Grinds has South Dakota roasted coffee and wines, fudge, roasted nuts and more. The Outpost Store, in the center of the park, has a great section of toys, swim stuff, treats, camp gear and is also the activities hub and home to the Outpost Bike Shop.
New Maintenance Shop
This may not be something that directly affects the guest but indirectly this is huge. 2015 is another historic year in that the old shop is being replace with a great 40x80 heated man cave!

The 2015 camping season will be upon us soon, and we would like to help you experience the "Sites" and Sounds of our wonderful KOA Resort. We want to help you make the 2015 camping season a memorable one!
We welcome Mike Atkinson as our new General Manager for 2015. Mike comes to us from Billings, Montana, where he worked for 9 years at KOA Headquarters. Mike has assembled a great supporting team to help 2015 run like clockwork. Danielle Akey is our new Assistant Manager. Danielle spent 6 years managing the Wilmington KOA in Wilmington, North Carolina. Billie Getman returns for her 18th year in 2015. Billie leads the way as the Manager of the Lodge at Palmer Gulch and the Groups Coordinator for the resort. Another veteran this season is Retail Manager, Staci Anderson. Staci handles all the buying, setup and operations of our GREAT retail outlets at the resort. Last but not least Dean Karschnik. Dean is our new Facilities Manager for the resort. You will find Dean out on the resort making sure our beautiful resort is safe and working properly.
Maintaining the rich heritage of Palmer Gulch, and providing first class experience to our guests is an enormous responsibility that the entire staff takes seriously.
