With its tree-shaded, level and grassy sites, this secluded campground is an extraordinary base for exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont’s Green Mountains.

The best way to see the USA up this way is from our KOA. With its tree-shaded, level and grassy sites, this secluded campground is an extraordinary base for exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont’s Green Mountains.

Your hosts provide itineraries to point the way around the scenic rural towns and spectacular mountain views. Sitting on the shores of the Ammonoosuc River you can step from your site, right into the river to try your hand at catching a rainbow trout. Hikers can head for Franconia Notch, Crawford Notch, Pinkham Notch, or Kinsman Notch for some world class hiking in the 800,000 acre White Mountain National Forest. Seek wilderness adventure and glorious scenery driving the Kancamangus Highway through the Pemigewasset Wilderness where pure family fun is around every corner.

The Old Man of the Mountain has collapsed, but fishing in Echo Lake, Profile Lake or riding the aerial tramway 4,180 feet up Cannon Mountain are unbeatable. Mount Washington’s cog railway, 25 miles away, chugs up the 6,288-foot summit for some of the grandest scenery in the country. Take the auto road or save the white-knuckle driving for the tour van.

Shop in historic downtown Littleton or at Conway’s outlet stores. Enjoy your choice of fine dining to casual in the many restaurants with traditional New England fare to continental cuisine; you'll always enjoy "the taste of the mountains". Unwind at the end of the day at your site, enjoy the heated pool, hot tub, or miniature golf. Order dinner delivered to your site.

Meet Your Hosts

"We do all we can to make our campers' experiences GREAT!" says Steve Jesseman. "We provide clean, well-maintained sites on a family-oriented campground, in the heart of a state that's fun to explore."

Jane, Steve's wife, continues, "We want our campers leaving with memorable stories about the fun they had here. Hopefully, they'll return with other friends and family to create more memories in the future! We are compiling our own memoirs of all of our special campground stories. When we retire from the campground, we will need to write a novel!"

Steve and Jane came to the campground business through the previous owner of this campground, who Jane knew and kept in touch with over the years. When they were ready to retire, the owner offered Steve and Jane the opportunity to be their own bosses and take ownership of the campground that's been in the KOA system since 1972.

Jane had spent 27 years in the office sales and billing department of a wood turning factory; Steve retired in 2003 after 30 years in Public Works. They were ready, qualified and willing to take over campground management when the offer came in.

When not working on the campground, you'll find Jane and Steve riding motorcycles, reading, and traveling. Individually, Steve likes sports and fishing, while Jane loves crafts and created stuffed moose, bear, snowmen, rope/fabric baskets, pocket books, tote bags and more.

Campground Activities

Golf

Golfing in the White Mountains has been a favorite activity to visitors and with good reason. Some of the best views in the mountains can be seen from the links of the region's many golf courses. A golf game on each of these courses presents a new and unforgettable experience for every golfer. There are 18 golf courses with-in one or two hours of the campground. Some are with-in a few miles. We have discount coupons for some and you can choose from difficult or more leisurely courses. Bethlehem Country Club - www.bethlehemcccnhgolf.com

Covered Bridges

Covered bridges in the White Mountains are an integral part of the landscape. This is a great place to wait out a summer shower, steal a kiss or watch raging river waters swollen by the melting winter snows. Take one of our self-guided tours or make up your own and see some of over 50 covered bridges in the White Mountains area.

Fishing

You can walk into the river, over the banks from the campground and do some great fishing in the Ammonoosuc River to catch that trophy rainbow trout. Other rivers and streams in the area that are especially notable include the Swift River along the Kancamagus Highway, the East and West Branch of the Pemigewasset River, the Saco River, the Ellis and Wildcat River. Those who prefer lake fishing can cast a line at Moore Reservoir on the Connecticut River, Big and Little Squam, Stinson Lake, and Echo Lake; and Profile Lake (fly-fishing only). And you can get a 1, 3 or 7-day license at the local sport shop.

Hiking

There are short hikes that, for minimal effort, can take you to a waterfall or a spectacular view, as well as longer hikes to scenic outlooks, lakes and ponds and mountain summits. Within minutes of the campground there are 48 / 4000’ Mountain tops and hundreds of trails, for young and old. You'll find trails for the serious hiker or that family hike and picnic. Let us direct you in the right direction for your desires. We are only 15 minutes from Franconia Notch and less than an hour from MT. Washington and most of the White Mountain National Forest, with hundreds of miles of marked trails.

Canoeing/Boating

Canoe touring or canoeing during the medium or low water period in summer can be enjoyed by almost everyone. There are a number of canoe shops throughout the White Mountains offering rentals and guided trips - and they'll generally transport your canoe directly to put-ins, and arrange to pick you and the canoe up at trip's end. Some shops offer opportunity for canoe camping as well.

Antiquing

There are many places in the area to search for that once-in-a-lifetime find. The White Mountains is a fertile hunting ground, with many individual dealers to large group shops and enticing country auctions. Nearly every small town has an antique shop or two, but towns like North Woodstock, Bethlehem, North Conway and Littleton are known for their excellent antique shopping.
