Is heading out into the woods your style, but you desire modern amenities to stay connected and comfortable? Why not have both? Our charming, rustic, well maintained mountain kampground is set at 7000 feet amongst tall pine trees at the base of the San Francisco Peaks . Our summer temperatures are in the high 80's during the day and low 50's at night.

We offer free Wi-Fi , 50 amp , patio "super sites", authentic teepee's, one room kamping kabins , tent pads, cable TV, business center , two laundry facilities, clean restrooms and showers, on-site groceries and souvenirs, banana bike rentals, and so much more!

The Flagstaff KOA is a " Green " kampground with full on-site recycling , water reclaiming for landscaping, wind turbines, and our new "Environmental Impact Educational Park". In the summer we have old fashioned hayrides, escorts to your site, free family movie nights on our big screen TV, open recreation in our "korral" with a billiards and foosball, sporting events by satellite on our plasma TV, "All you can eat dinners", and a kamp kitchen making breakfast every morning. We are only 2 miles from the Flagstaff Aquaplex Indoor Water Park where you will receive a special "KOA" rate of $5 per day.

We are located off Route 66 , 28 miles from the beautiful Red Rocks of Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon , one hour from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon , 99 miles from the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert , two hours from Lake Powell , and 30 minutes from Meteor Crater , Walnut Canyon , and Native American Ruins . We have free concierge service, tours leaving from our Kampground, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff to make sure your vacation is the trip of a lifetime!

Meet Your Hosts

Justin and Janyel Pitman have been your campground hosts at the Flagstaff KOA since 2006. Janyel is a Flagstaff native and her family is from Jerome a Northern Arizona ghost town and artist community and Justin is from Santa Cruz, CA. They have hiked, and camped all over Northern Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. "We have taken our son Ethan all over the Southwest and it's wonderful National Parks and landmarks off the beaten path. For us, the Flagstaff KOA offer's the charm and outdoor experience we look for when we are camping. We love nature, and tree's and more importantly making sure other people get out an explore nature as well."

Campground Activities

Every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day

The Korral will be open every day from 9 am to 9pm offering Wii, Mini Golf, Arcade Games. Pool Table, Foosball Table, Air Hockey, Bounce House, Wet n Wild Splash Pad, and other games and activities. Our snack bar will offer Nachos, Hot Dogs, Ice Cream, Sodas, Chips and more! Come check out the great activities for the whole family!

KOA Banana Bike Rentals

There are over 4 miles of paved roads in the campground to ride on.

The Flagstaff KOA is located just 2 miles from the brand new Aquaplex

The Aquaplex is open year round with indoor water slides, lazy river, kids' splash center, Jacuzzi, rock climbing wall, fire side lounge, fitness center and so much more! As our special guests you have a full day access pass for only $3.00 for kids and $5.00 for mom and dad. They even have a day care facility!

People always ask us "How long should I spend in Flagstaff to see everything?" We tell them - spend as long as you can - whether you get a day, a weekend, or a week there will be enough to fill your time.

We have several National Parks within a short drive, museums, Native American monuments ,white water rafting, famous rock climbing and bouldering areas, Trout, Pike, and Cat fishing at Lake Mary, hiking 1000 year old volcanoes (that's here at our campground!), single track mountain biking, and shopping. We have volcanic mountains, craters and red rock views. Interested in Dinosaurs or Astronomy? Look no further! Did you know Pluto was discovered at the Lowell Observatory here in Flagstaff? Dinosaur bones are a local favorite. See what you can dig up! We have a lifetime worth of vacations here in our backyard... come play!

Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular of arid land erosion in the world. The park encompasses 1,904 square miles, including 277 miles of the Colorado River. Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon

Petrified Forest National Park

With has one of the world's largest and most colorful concentrations of petrified wood, multi-hued badlands of the Painted Desert, historic structures, archeological sites, and displays of 225 million year old fossils, this is a surprising land of scenic wonders and fascinating science. www.nps.gov/pefo/

Wupatiki National Monument

Situated in the rain shadow of the San Francisco Peaks, the area we now call Wupatiki National Monument was once home to the farmers and traders of the Anasazi and Sinagua people, or Hisatsinom, as their Hopi descendants call them. The area is characterized by freestanding masonry pueblos by walking short trails that allow you a window into the past. The monument is the largest of the pueblos with approximately 85 rooms and is located behind the Wupatiki Visitor Center. Open year-round. www.nps.gov/wupa/

Walnut Canyon National Monument

Walnut Canyon is a tranquil, pristine, stream-cut gorge, located seven miles east of Flagstaff on I-40. Hike down the paved trails that reveal the ancient cliff dwellings etched in the steep canyon walls where the Sinagua Indians lived. See displays of pottery and artifacts. www.nps.gov/waca/

Montezuma Castle National Monument

Come visit Montezuma Castle which is a five-story, 20-room dwelling that stands in a cliff recess a hundred feet above the valley. www.nps.gov/moca/

Sunset Crater National Monument

Numerous trails and viewpoints allow visitors a close look at the brittle lava flows that occurred 900 years ago. Immediately east of the flows, you’ll see the impressive and well-formed Sunset Crater Volcano, named by John Wesley Powell for the permanent red-orange hue near its peak. www.nps.gov/sucr/

Tuzigoot National Monument

The remnant of a Sinagua Village built between A.D. 1125 and 1400. It crowns the summit of a long ridge that rises 120 feet above the Verde Valley. www.nps.gov/tuzi/

Jerome State Historic Park

This State Park has been an eye-catching landmark in Jerome since 1916. This museum, devoted the history of Jerome and the Douglas family, features exhibits of photographs, artifacts and minerals, in addition to a video presentation and a 3-D model of the town with its underground mines. Museum of Northern Arizona

This museum is an ideal introduction to the geology, anthropology, biology and fine art of the Colorado Plateau region. The Branigar/Chase Discovery Center offers a daily sound and light show, "Sacred Lands of the Southwest." A nature trail is available for outdoor exploration. Pioneer Museum

Housed in the old County Hospital, presents the diverse history of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona from cowboys and lumberjacks to railroaders and astronomers. Exhibits include medical equipment, saddles, household and livestock items, a 1929 Baldwin locomotive and much more. Arizona Snowbowl

The Arizona Snowbowl is located high in the vast Coconino National Forest, and under the shadow of the 12,356 ft. Agassiz Peak. With more than 30 runs, four chair lifts, two lodges and a vertical drop of 2,300 feet, it’s the perfect place to enjoy great skiing in Arizona, and the West. Open daily mid-December through mid-April with an annual average snowfall of 260 inches. www.arizonasnowbowl.com/

Grand Canyon Deer Farm

Campground News

We have widened the entrance to our entrance by 4 feet!

We,love our tree's, it is part of what makes,this campground so beautiful. However, we realize as rig's get bigger and the industry changes,we need to do out best to accommodate,them. We can not cut down,our interior tree's as they are protected but,we have taken down,some of the tree's have seen the end,of their life to widen the road and makes the entrance/exit easier for everyone.,

2012 Korral Change of Activities

This year we have decided to, make the Korral,a true event center and a safe,location,for your kids,open,daily from 9am - 9pm everyday. We,have moved the splash pad and bounce house to the Korral as well as the Banana Bikes. We have also added several arcade games,and FREE,mini golf!,

We will offer,a snack,bar menu! Come on us and see us starting,May 10th -,Labor Day Weekend!

We will,have sporting,events on the big screen T.V.,through satellite. Please let the staff know,if you,have a particular game,you want to see!,

New Teepee beds are in!

The feedback on,our teepee's has been overwhelming and people love the unique,camping experience. However,they did not like the,beds and cited them uncomfortable to sleep on. May of 2012 we had brand new,custom beds made. The thick mattress and waterproof,pads have made for a cleaner, more comfortable nights sleep. We hope this will make an already memorable experience even better.
