Meet Your Hosts
For Victor and Kathleen Arsenault and their family, there was hardly a time when KOA campgrounds weren't a part of their lives. Victor was hired to build and manage a KOA campground 36 years ago and, although he took a brief job (28 years) as a director with the Boy Scouts of America, he always knew he wanted to return. Kathleen, at the time a high-school teacher, supported the decision to purchase the Canandaigua KOA. She thought that raising her family, while working a fun job, was too good to pass up. "We take pride in living on the campground," says Victor, "we want to be part of the action."
Victor and Kathleen encourage anyone, with every kind of camping ability, to come and visit. One special feature of the campground is that the cabins, kottages, tent sites, and RV sites are next to each other or nearby so people with different camping needs can camp together.
Victor and Kathleen rely on their mission statement to encourage great service: "To provide quality services in a safe, secure and clean outdoor environment that will result in a fun-filled camping experience for the entire camping family." They said their bottom line is to have fun and provide excellent service. "All employees are trained to understand the importance of teamwork, fun, and fellowship that will quickly deliver quality service," says Victor.
The campground caters to many different kinds of people, and the people returning each year is proof enough that they will continue to have more. "We enjoy providing a quality campground to many people who are enjoying touring this great country," Victor said.

Sonnenberg Gardens
Sonnenberg was the summer home of Frederick Ferris and Mary Clark Thompson. A legacy of an era of wealth and elegance, the estate was sold to the Federal government by Mrs. Thompson’s heir in 1930. In 1973, it was deeded to Sonnenberg Gardens, a not-for-profit corporation formed to restore the gardens and mansion to their former glory. At Sonnenberg Gardens you may stroll on your own, take a guided tour or come to enjoy one of the many events hosted throughout the year. There is also a wine tasting room.

Genesee Country Village
Spend a day within a 19th century country village. As you stroll among the 57 restored and fully furnished buildings, you will see how a log cabin settlement grew into a bustling community of stores, shops, schools, churches and fine houses. Experience vivid impressions of 19th century American country life -- the aroma of soup simmering over an open hearth and bread baking in a brick oven, the ringing of the blacksmith’s hammer, the calls of barnyard animals -- and the friendly voices of interpreters and crafts people.

Ganondagan - State Historical Native American Site
Ganondagan State Historic Site is the location of a major seventeenth-century Seneca town and its palisaded granary. The town and its associated burial grounds on Boughton Hill were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964. Fort Hill, the site of the granary, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966 because it was part of the French campaign of destruction in 1687. The Marquis de Denonville, Governor General of New France, led an army from Canada against the Seneca in July, 1687. It was an effort to annihilate the Seneca and eliminate them as competitors in the international fur trade.
