You'll see plenty of wildlife. Birders can look for their favorite feathered friends, along with deer, coyotes and more. The large heated pool, playground, bike rentals and game room keep the kids happy.

Close

Greg and Betty Colon enjoyed their KOA camping experiences so much that they decided to take it one step further and purchase their own campground. "We liked the atmosphere that we found in the KOA's," Greg recalled. They were ready for a business of their own, and purchased their campground in early 2005.

They relocated from Texas, and were happy to leave the hot weather behind, he said. Greg was an IT consultant and software developer, and Betty worked for UPS. Prior to that, they managed Pizza Huts, so they also had experience in the hospitality industry and knew they liked it.

"We enjoy being hosts," he said of their personalities. "We take good care of people. We like to entertain."

They enjoy camping by motorhome. Greg has handyman skills and a business background, which are useful in the campground business. The couple is proud of the well-designed campground, and has been making lots of improvements, including upgrades to the buildings.

Their goal is to provide customers with great service. "We treat them as we would like to be treated," he added. Their son will take time off from college in the summer and help out, as well.

Greg enjoys sports, outdoors and carpentry and Betty enjoys photography. They also looking forward to continued traveling and camping in their motorhome during the off season, when they have the opportunity to check out other KOA campgrounds and meet other owners.
