Year End Reflections

Year End Reflections

As we near the end of the year, we step back and take a look at all we gained and lost. For me this was a great year of gains. I started my year in a job that was so stressful that I could feel my blood pressure rising every morning as I was going to work. My job was literally killing me. Luckily, a friend of mine reached out to me and ask me to come work for her and her husband. At first I thought this was crazy, they own a campground in Michigan and I live here in Washington. But she showed my wife and I how it could work and with the support of my family I was off to Michigan in late April to Manage the Ludington East KOA. I had an amazing time there learning about KOA and the campground world. I met so many amazing guests and made many new friends. My wife and kids were able to come visit over the summer for about a month. Things were great and I never felt better. While I was learning and trying to get my feet on the ground, my friends informed me that they have an opportunity for a KOA back in Washington, near my home. As things progressed, it became clear that this was going to happen. So, in September, I left Michigan and headed back home. On September 24th of this year, I became the Manager of the Bay Center KOA. Working along side the previous owners, Ken and Iris, I got a crash course in everything about this campground. I am so excited to be a part of this adventure. Being here on the Washington coast has always been a happy place for me. I am already making new friends with guests and locals. This has been a good year!
