Located at head of Mount Desert Island at the intersection of Rt 3, Rt 102, and County Rd. Follow Rt 1A to Ellsworth and Rt 3 toward Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island. Crossing onto the island, SLOW DOWN and take an immediate far-right turn on to County Road. The registration office is immediately on your right. Please GPS to the Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA, NOT the street address.

The Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge Complex includes five separate refuges situated across the Maine coastline. Throughout summer, tour operators like Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co. offer travelers the opportunity to view whales, dolphins, seals, sharks, tuna and thousands of bird species, including puffins, in the area.
Maine Wildlife Park has over 30 species, including moose, deer, black bears, mountain lions, porcupines, coyotes and birds like owls and hawks. The animals in the park have all been injured or orphaned, so they offer visitors the unique opportunity to view them in close proximity.
