West Glacier KOA

Our Activities

Hiking

Glacier Park offers you nearly a thousand miles of trails. There are many short day hikes that will take you into Glacier back country or to mountain chalets. A few good choices would be Avalanche Lake Trail, Trail of the Cedars, Granite Park Chalet or the boardwalk at Logan Pass.

Fishing

Horseback riding

Horseback riding is available at Lake McDonald Lodge, Flying Eagle Ranch in Coram, and near the west entrance of Glacier Park.

Helicopter tours

Soar over some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. You will see glaciers and mountain peaks formed millions of years ago. You will see valleys, lakes and waterfalls almost too breathtaking to describe. These tours are performed in meticulously maintained, four passenger Bell Jet Ranger helicopters with experienced mountain pilots.

Golfing

Boat tours

Glide through spectacular mountain scenery and unique geologic phenomena. You’ll see and feel the grandeur that makes Glacier National Park the Crown of the Continent. There are lake cruises available on Lake McDonald, Two Medicine Lake, St. Mary Lake and at Many Glacier. Boat rentals are available at all of the locations except St. Mary Lake.

Glacier Park Tour Busses

Start at Lake McDonald Lodge each morning around 8:30 and return around 6:00. Hours may vary depending on the season. If your camper or trailer is over 20 feet in overall length, it is a great way to tour the park.

Whitewater rafting

There are half day floats, full day floats and dinner floats available. If you are interested in going on a float trip please come to the office and let us make reservations for you. The raft company will come to our campground and pick you up.
