Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains, this KOA caters to the entire family (including pets). Breathe in the cool mountain air and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Pets can exercise in the new pet playground. You'll enjoy the swimming pool with a 50-foot waterslide, hiking trails, court games and a gift shop and general store. At KOA's Family Fun Center (Memorial Day-Labor Day), enjoy the AOK Kafe (site delivery available), an arcade, indoor batting cages, mini golf, pool tables, and air hockey. Nearby, explore the Blue Ridge Parkway, orchards, wineries, a go-cart amusement center and antique malls. Go golfing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing or horseback riding.

Meet Your Hosts
Mike and Linda Ambrosio, co-owners of the Wytheville KOA in Virginia, have proven that you can teach an old campground new tricks.
In March of 2005, Mike and Linda, along with their son Michael and daughter-in-law Cindy, purchased the campground and began remodeling it. The campground had been a KOA since 1968, and needed some sprucing up. The most recent additions are the pet playland and the 10,000 square-foot family fun center.
Mike had been a sheet metal contractor for 30 years before entering the campground business, but all four Ambrosio's had been motor-home campers for years. "We wanted a change in lifestyle," says Mike, "and we needed to slow down a little bit."
Mike and Linda enjoy spending more time with their granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda, who live on the campground with them. "It's nice to have more family time," says Mike.
