Beaches in Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County is known for its tropical weather and golden beaches — the perfect destination for a summertime getaway. If you are not from around here, however, you might not know where the best beaches in the West Palm Beach area are located. Here is our list of some of the finest coastlines you should visit during your trip to Palm Beach County.

Carlin Park

Carlin Park is home to 3,000 feet of pristine shoreline in Jupiter. This popular location offers free parking and is visited by countless locals every day due to its central location just off South State Highway A1A. Besides being a beautiful place to stick your toes in the sand, Carlin Park offers never-ending possibilities to those looking for a scenic workout by the water. You can go for a run, exercise with free-to-use equipment, walk your dog or try your hand at tennis — there's something for everyone.

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park

Explore 1.6 miles of golden sand, traverse hiking trails within a maritime forest, rent a standup paddleboard or cast your line at this beautiful coastal habitat in Southeast Florida. Ideally situated on an Atlantic Ocean barrier island, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is a secluded beach oasis in Palm Beach County. It's filled with beautiful views and endless activities all your loved ones will enjoy.

This area is the only state park in Palm Beach County, offering boundless access to 436 acres of untouched natural environments. Members have free access to the park from 8 a.m. to sunset, while non-members must pay $5.00 per vehicle. Dogs are not permitted on the beach or the boardwalk but may be leashed in other park areas.

Juno Beach Park

If you're looking for the perfect beach to bring your furry friend, you've found it. Juno Beach Park is an off-leash dog beach, offering 5.24 acres to explore. This beach is the go-to spot for many locals and tourists, with ample parking and lots of sand to spread out and relax in peace. Whether you want to swim with your furry friend, read your favorite book or cast your line off its 990-foot pier, you'll enjoy limitless ways to spend your day at Juno Beach Park.

Delray Municipal Beach

The Delray Municipal Beach ensures you and your family will never get bored, offering a 1.1-mile stretch of sand perfect for surfing, sailing, snorkeling, playing volleyball, or tossing the frisbee. Lifeguards are on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day between September and March. There is always plenty of beach parking, which requires a small daily fee. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed at this public beach in Palm Beach County. In between plunges in the South Florida water, head across the street to Atlantic Avenue to grab a bite to eat or explore unique shops. The fun never has to stop when you're in Delray Beach!

Blowing Rocks Preserve

Although this beach is located just across the Palm Beach County line, it's definitely worth a mention! Get up close and personal with rare, endangered plants and animals at this barrier island nature sanctuary. Blowing Rocks Preserve is a 73-acre beach area located on Jupiter Island, known for its rocky limestone shoreline. This peaceful area is perfect for snorkeling, hiking and swimming. Free, on-site parking is available every day from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Unfortunately, this preserve is not a pet-friendly zone due to the fragile ecosystem it's sworn to protect.
