Like waiting for a fine wine to age, campground owners, Eric and Carrol Murray, waited several years to purchase their West Omaha KOA.

In 1998 the Murrays were camping at a campground in Washington and spent time talking to the owner about buying a campground. They toyed with the idea for seven years before purchasing their campground in 2005. "It was finally the right time and we decided to make the move," Eric said.

Originally the couple purchased another KOA, and they were literally on their way to their new home when something in the deal fell through. They started looking at other KOA campgrounds and found the one in Omaha.

"We were looking exclusively at KOAs," Eric said. "Because of the value of the system and the people we dealt with at KOA, we only looked there." Their daughter, Summer, is an integral part of their business and is pictured in their franchise owner photo. Eric said Summer is the kind of child, "who should be running the campground in a couple of years."

The Murrays love the beauty of their tree-covered campground and its convenience to all the local attractions. They strive to make their guests as comfortable as possible.

When not busy with their campground, the Murrays can be found traveling, hiking, running or participating in other outdoor activities. "We are looking forward to a long and fruitful career at KOA," Eric said.
