The Waldport/Newport KOA is located in the heart of the beautiful Oregon Coast!

It is no secret that the Oregon Coast is magnificent! Mother Nature has impressed many with her amazing beauty! Our KOA is located right in the heart of all that beauty!

Our KOA sits above picturesque, Alsea Bay. Our views are incredible! In fact, Reserve America has awarded us “America’s Top 50 Views”, TWICE! From our view sites you can enjoy amazing views of Alsea Bay, Waldport’s Historic Bridge, and the Pacific Ocean.

Our area offers lots of things to amaze you. Hike a rocky coastline, discover starfish in a tide pool, or just take a walk on a quiet, sandy beach, Tour a lighthouse or the Rogue Brewery. Visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium or the Sea Lion Caves. Buy fresh-caught fish on the “Old Bayfront” in Newport. Or catch your own! Our bay is one of the top 5 bays in Oregon for crabbing, clamming, and fishing!

We are open all year long! Anytime is a great time to go kamping! Stay one night or multiple nights. We look forward to having you!

Enjoy a beautiful walk down to Alsea Bay on our Bay Beach Trail. An easy trail to take, enjoy old-growth pines, wild flowers, and the sound of a running stream. Our four-legged kampers can't resist it.

Oregon Coast Aquarium Photo

Oregon Coast Aquarium

Located in Newport.
You'll find a slice of Oregon's rugged coastline, beautifully reproduced on the shores of Newport's Yaquina Bay. Here you can meet more than 190 animal species that thrive in Oregon's unique marine habitats. Visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium online for more information.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is open every day except December 25.
Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Also available are guided tours, a cafe and a gift shop.

OSU Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center

This attraction is part aquarium and part laboratory. Come and see how world-renowned marine researchers, right here in Oregon investigate our amazing world. The Science center offers lots of hands on action for all ages. You'll find everything from touch tanks to working exhibits. Don't miss the feeding of the octopus, truly amazing! Open 10-5 everyday Memorial Day through Labor Day. It is open from 10-4 Thursday through Monday in the off-season.

A place of Discovery
The 2,700 acre Cape Perpetua Scenic Area is located along the Central Oregon Coast, three miles south of Yachats, Oregon. Hiking, beach combing, wildlife viewing, tide pool exploring and Visitor Center exhibits await you. Long before early explorers crossed the horizon, generations of native people gathered here, drawn by the bounty of the sea and the stark beauty of the land.

See for yourself. Discover the rhythms of coastal life in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. Investigate daily and see seasonal cycles of tide and weather, and the repeating patterns of storms, whale migrations and history.

Nye Beach

Nye Beach is a quaint, seaside village that began in 1866 when John Nye claimed a parcel of land. Today this beautiful historic area is filled with shops, restaurants, and art galleries.

Sea Lion Caves Photo

Sea Lion Caves

Formation of the cavern began about 25 million years ago. It now soars to the height of a 12 story building and stretches the length of a football field. Care is taken not to disturb the natural habitat of the wild animals that dwell here. Sea lions gather in this natural amphitheater, usually during fall and winter. In spring and summer, they breed and have their young on rock ledges just outside the cave. The Stellar sea lion is a warm blooded mammal which gives birth, nurses its young, and must breathe air. Crabbing and fishing right off the docks. You can launch your boat at the boat launch which is near the docks. If you need licensing or equipment, be sure to visit "The Dock of the Bay" Located right next to the docks. You can rent crab rings, boats, get licensed, buy bait, they even cook your crab!

C&M Stables

Farmers Markets

Fresh produce, flowers, jewelry, arts & crafts, are just some of the things you can enjoy at our local Farmer's Markets. Waldport's Market is held Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11-6. Newport's market is held on Saturdays from 9-1. Lincoln City's market is held on Saturdays from 9-2. The markets operate from May through October.

  • "Breakfast with the Animals" - Oregon Coast Aquarium
  • "Toledo's Wooden Boat Show". On the waterfront in Toledo. Vintage and new wooden boats, live music, food, races. Fun for the whole family.
  • "Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow" in Siletz. This annual event is free. Enjoy a parade, tribal dances, native foods, arts and crafts.
  • "Pirate Treasure Hunt" Depoe Bay. Teams of four find clues, complete challenges and tasks, winning team gets the pirates booty!
  • "Quilts By The Sea" over 200 quilts on display. Quilt auction, kid's corner, demonstrations, vendors, door prizes. This annual event has been going for over 20 years! www.oregoncoastalquilters.org

  • American Indian Salmon Bake - Salmon cooked outdoors just like the Indians did it in Depoe Bay
  • "Waldport Cruzin For Crab" Festival. Third weekend in September-Waldport's annual salute to crab weekend. Car show, local foods, games, events. Walk on over from the campground and enjoy the festivities!
  • "Newport's Wild Seafood Weekend" 9/10-9/11. Newport's fisherman's wives host this annual event located on the old bayfront in Newport. Celebrate the Northwest's wild caught seafood industry, the fisherman, and their families. All proceeds go to the "Fishing Families Relief" refund.

Oregon Coast Aquarium-Creatures of the Day and Creatures of the Night! Saturday Oct. 29 10am-4pm Costume contest, face painting, games, much more! 6:30pm-8:30pm Scarier activities! $2 admission + 2 nonperishable food item donation.

November

"Talk Turkey with Ron" - Make a new Thanksgiving tradition by spending the holiday camping!

December

  • "Christmas in Waldport" 12/10-Join the town of Waldport' Christmas Party! Talk with Santa, meet a fireman and tour his firetruck, enjoy homemade cookies and hot chocolate, enter your dog in the dog parade, walk the bridge and enjoy the lighting of the Waldport town Christmas tree. Great ol' fashion family fun!
  • "Newport's Lighted Boat Parade" 12/3 Ol' Bayfront. Bundle up, bring your hot beverage, and enjoy the beautiful lights.
