Meet Your Hosts

For Chuck ,Sandy & Chucky Tufts, owners of Sweetwater Valley KOA, buying their campground was a dream come true.

The Sweetwater Valley KOA is all about family, as the Tufts proved by having their son, Chuck, daughter-in-law, Shannon and grandchildren, Sarah ,Jacob and Charlie along with them to live and work on the campground.

"We simply want to make our guest's stay a memorable one." It has been said that we do not remember our lives in years, months or even days...we remember in small, fleeting moments...so it is our desire to create an atmosphere where a moment here and there will serve to last a lifetime for you and yours!

When they're not working on the campground, the Tufts families can be found traveling, fishing, and participating in youth sports.

Tennessee Valley Railroad

The "Golden Age" of American railroading lasted for about fifty years during which time rail empires were built, two world wars were fought and frequent passenger trains rolled almost everywhere. The Pullman Company provided over 50,000 berths each night and steam locomotives were the power of choice. The Tennessee Valley Railroad was founded in 1961 by a small group of Chattanooga rail fans determined to preserve operating steam passenger trains. From a faint hope in 1957, Tennessee Valley RM has become the largest operating historic railroad in the south. We invite you to enjoy what we have built. Ride our train, see the audio visual show, browse through our exhibits, tour the repair shop, enjoy the dining room and explore our gift shops.
