We are blessed to live in beautiful surroundings, off the beaten path. Come and explore our area, free from the crowds and hustle and hurry of the city. We have something for everyone. Check out our area activities below and pick those that suit you. Come relax and enjoy!
The diversity of habitat in southwestern New Mexico makes the Silver City area a year-round bird watching destination. The Gila River with its lush river willow thickets and cottonwoods provides prime habitat for 60% of the bird species seen in our state. The scenic mountains of the Gila National Forest and surrounding grasslands expand opportunities to see a variety of species. 339 species have been seen in our area. The spring migrations usually begin in mid-April. Your hosts, Jon and Kris Greenwood, have birding guides, maps, and tips on the best locations. Kris is an avid bird photographer.

Meet Your Hosts
"Thanks to all our guests for making us a President's Award and Founder's Award winning Campground. We look forward to another great year!"New owners and new to the area, Jon and Kris were in the hum-drum insurance business in Michigan. No one gets excited about buying insurance, but they do enjoy visiting our beautiful camp ground and the beautiful area.
We are exploring the area and here in "Silver", as the locals call it, you will find so much to do. There is hiking, biking, fishing, there are art galleries, golfing. For the outdoors person this is the place to come. We have enjoyed getting off the beaten path and relaxing a bit. During the summer season, Kris enjoys cooking breakfast on the weekends for everyone and visiting. Jon enjoys visiting!
So come and spend some time at our KOA and "Silver" and enjoy the hospitality and warmth of the Southwest. We look forward to visiting with our guests, and want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We also hope you will return again and again.
