The rep who checked David Sherrill in, wasn’t welcoming as if we were an inconvenience to her during check in time. If one doesn’t have the capacity to handle a check in line patiently, they shouldn’t be in customer service. I later discovered this same KOA employee is the manager of the grounds. We had a great time staying at KOA for the first time. The amenities were great! I just wish the camp store had more food options during the weekend and wanted the cafe to be open. The staff was extremely nice. Lacey ran the kid programs and she was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the band that was supposed to attend did not show up and our group was looking forward to it.

A ton of rule changes since last year - it would be helpful if campers received copies of all the things campers now agree to do/not do - very long list, not saying it is a bad list, just very long and detailed and different, so we need a copy. Would also be great if pre-registered campers don't have to fill in all their personal information over and over again....and someone stole my cooler.

the view from the cabin was magnificent, and the cabin itself was like brand new......not enough restaurants in the area is the only negative....but alot to do at the campground.

It was a great experience and enjoyed my stay except for the flyin insects. Part of blinds were broken off.Bugs stains in ceiling. Dead insects with wings(look like a mosquito) stuck in webs on chairs and under table on porch . Chairs dirty. Maybe should had been power washed. After returning to the cabin , found about 30 tiny flying insects in bathroom and in shower which was a nuisance.

My first complaint is that they advertised a cafe that isn’t up and running yet so a little lunch or breakfast I planned to have wasn’t going to happen and there isn’t a store super close by to get things when you didn’t know you needed it. It was beautiful! I didn’t realize that I needed to provide linen for beds and bath. I was empty handed and they readily provided what I needed without hesitation. Hospitality was impeccable. I will stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Like we always do. We brought my brother and sister in laws with us. They really liked it too. We are coming back in May & September.. maybe the weather will be less windy and cold. Hope to do family vacation in September there. See you soon.

Our family LOVES the KOA at Currituck Sound! The staff is friendly and welcoming when you get there. The campground is beautiful and my son loves the playground & play area. The campground is family friendly and the atmosphere is quiet and calm. We have visited this campground 3 times during 3 different times of the year, and each visit has been one we never regret! I highly recommend it!

We had a great time; however, the camp store was not open the first 3 days of our stay and was not communicated before reserving. It seemed like everything was dis organized when it came to staffing the store. It was an inconvenience- after paying the 10 dollar resort fee per day. I was not impressed.

From the very kind Lisa in the Welcome Center to the staff we met on the grounds, we enjoyed all of our interactions with personnel. The campground was very clean and beautifully situated on the Currituck Sound. We rented a Waterview cabin and were totally satisfied with the cleanliness and layout. We will definitely be coming back.

It was a little bare bones for thanksgiving weekend. The staff was nice and gave us his personal firewood. Probably a nice place the warmer months for swimming and kayaking.

This was our first stay in a camping cottage after selling our fifth wheel a year or two ago. We really like being able to still have the campground experience. The cottage was very nice and had a great view. It was an accessible unit and was quite comfortable except for the bed requiring one person to crawl in from the bottom.

We enjoyed our weekend stay. We've camped in the (rental) campers and this time we rented a cabin (WF43). The cabin was very nice except for a few maintenance issues which we relayed to the office upon check-out. For cabins that sleep 6, recommend a 4-slice toaster rather than the 2-slice that was there. We look forward to next year when we plan to add another day to our weekend get-away.

Bugs were an issue as they (corporaete) have removed all the screens from the cabins rather than finding a workable yet less expensive solution

Pretty good, but the removal of the screens on the porch was a surprise. The mosquito like bugs were so thick they covered the inside windows. We lured them into the bathroom and smashed as many as we could. Also had a bit of a problem with the Sand Spurs at the dog park. You would think that would be one place that an attempt to clear them out would happen.

Nice campground! Staff really friendly! Need a pool and hot tub. Also suggested a booze cruise in warmer weather!! The sand spurs were really bad, hopefully they can spray to remove some of those!!!

We had a family group to come stay and had a great time. I would recommend spraying the cabins for mosquitos & spiders and maybe taking a moment to pressure wash the porches and pier area but other than that we had a great time. definitely will be back .

My partner and I enjoyed our stay. We stayed active on the campground. The dog park was very nice. My dog had so much fun playing. This is our 3rd visit and we will be back.

The only issue was activities could not happen without the store being open. Spent over 3 hours waiting on store to open to ride the pedal bikes. Store was out of basic food staples like coffee. The cabin needs a good cleaning under the beds and sofa. Recommend a blind for the front door window.

We stayed in a cabin. It was very clean and the fully stocked kitchen was very nice. We were with a group that included children and the activities that were offered to them was nice. The camp staff were very friendly and more than willing to offer help, suggestions and service. We will definitely stay here again and recommend this campground to our friends.

Great location, quiet and serene—just what we needed to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. This KOA is tucked away behind Church's Island neighborhood, so you wouldn't even know it's there. The roads are very narrow when going through this area before you get to the KOA, so keep that in mind if you have a big rig. But don't let that scare you, because there are plenty of big rigs that go there. Yes, we're going to visit again. The staff was great, the location is great, and the bathrooms and laundry facilities were excellent and well-maintained. The convenience store was great, and the fun activities they have outside, like a jump house, putting green, and little mini go-karts that are powered by pedal power, are worth trying out if you want to work out. Oh, and make sure you visit the Morris Farmers Market in Currituck, which is about 26 minutes away. It's definitely a place you need to visit for the shopping, the food, the music, and the environment—it's totally worth it. And if you want to venture out a little further, like we did, we went to Kitty Hawk, which only took us barely an hour to get to. It was such an easy and scenic drive, and we got to see an awesome part of history when it comes to the first recorded flights and innovation.

Very well kept resort! The spaces are gravel and level and plenty of space between spots. Lots of things for kids to do. Bathrooms were super clean and tended to throughout the day. Our space had a really nice seating area overlooking the water. We were only there a few days to spend time at Outer Banks, so that is a journey. We would've stayed closer, had we realized. The speed signs are no joke…from the KOA where there's only one way in and out (the police were waiting to ticket a little outside the entrance) and all through the Outer Banks. We saw so many people pulled over (including us). Just pay attention because the speed changes fairly often.
