Open All Year

Big rig? Tent? Cabin? Lodge? No problem, we've got your camping needs covered! Best camping in the Oklahoma City area.

Though this award-winning campground spreads over a quiet, park like setting of shade trees, it's only 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. We can accommodate the largest of rigs. Several types of cabins and lodges are also an option. Connect with the city's cowboy legacy at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum or Stockyards City. While in town, take a canal barge ride in Bricktown, pay your respects at the Oklahoma City National Memorial, stop at Bass Pro Shops or visit any of the other exciting museums and shops the city has to offer. Or you can just spend a few quiet days at the campground. Ride the hay wagon, roast marshmallows, let your pet run free in our Kamp K-9 Park, stroll the 1-mile nature trail or enjoy a home-cooked meal at the café (open weekends seasonally).

"I have to say it. It is much different than even we assumed owning a campground would be. It is more work, but we would not change a thing if we had to do it over again."

Oklahoma City East KOA owners Terry and Tina Haith wanted a different lifestyle. Both had careers, but longed for something different, so in 1999 they purchased the campground.

Though campground ownership is no walk in the park, Tina said it is all worth it. They have raised their two sons on the campground, and both helped in the responsibilities. Tina's parents are fulltime RVers, so the camping lifestyle runs in the family.

"When time allows, Terry and I are RVers, as well," Tina said. "We love to travel when the opportunity presents itself." Terry is a hunter and likes to work outside, while Tina is a reader and gardener.

Tina said the couple is especially proud of the way they treat their customers. "We like to treat them like family and make everyone feel at home," she said. "We encourage them to stay long and a lot of them do." But, she emphasizes, good customer service is "something you do rather than something you talk about."
