Las Vegas KOA Moves to New Home at Sams Town
On Sept. 29, 2014, Boyd Gaming Corporation and Kampgrounds of America, Inc. announced KOA will assume operations of Sams Town RV Park, one of the largest and most well-known RV parks in the Las Vegas Valley.
We are thrilled to welcome KOA to Sams Town, and look forward to a successful and mutually beneficial partnership, said Steve Thompson, Senior Vice President, Operations for Boyd Gamings Nevada region.
The agreement returns KOA to Boulder Highway, where the company opened the first Las Vegas KOA in 1971. As one of the most popular destinations for RV enthusiasts in the country, Las Vegas has long been one of KOAs leading locations.
KOA offers the best in outdoor hospitality, and we are interested in providing campers a premier place to stay in Las Vegas, said KOA President Pat Hittmeier. Sams Town is a beautiful facility with top-tier services run by a great group of people. The partnership is a winning combination.
Meet Your Hosts
"Whether you're trying your luck or enjoying the area, Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town is a great place to stay!"After spending most of her professional life in the restaurant business, Wendy Jensen, manager of Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town, decided to heed the advice of an old saying: "Do what you love, love what you do."
"I've always loved camping and outdoor activities, so when I decided to make a career change, I picked the camping business," says Wendy.
Surrounded by the sights and sounds of The Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas isn't what many would consider a traditional camping experience, yet Las Vegas KOA at Sam's town offers guests a bit of both worlds: excitement and top-notch amenities at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall and KOA's world class outdoor hospitality.
"Our friendly staff does a great job of helping our guests get the most out of their visit to Las Vegas. Whether it's directions to the best gaming spots, fun for the kids, tours to Hoover Dam, or even directions to a beautiful hiking spot, our great staff have the answers."
In her spare time Wendy trains for triathlons, camps, hikes, and spends time with her two Jack Russell Terriers.
