We stayed in the Cool Caboose for a night! We were greeted with a warm welcome upon our arrival. An ice cold bottle of water for each of us was a nice touch. The caboose is very cozy and has everything you need for an overnight stay. We made great use of the back patio for dinner and breakfast. The only feedback I have is the beds. They’re not the most comfortable, but not horrible. We’d stay a

Caboose was fun!. BBQ area and amenities were nice. Downsides 2 coffee pods were provided instructed additional could be purchased, tried to exchange the tea and Cocoa pods for coffee but was also not possible. IMO it only truly sleeps 2 -3 adults comfortably. Top bunk more suited for a child, or perhaps a side sleeper in fetal position. Knowing this I would rent again but no more than 3 adults.

This was our first stay at a campground with full facilities. Everything worked perfectly! The folks running the place were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would be glad to stay there again.

Manager met us outside for check in! Diverse ways to stay from cabins to real train cars, plus camping sites. Overall was clean. Nearby shopping and couple of restaurants.

They were great!!! If anything came up, they were very attentive. The cabin was clean, and comfortable. We used both the air and heater and everything worked as it should. The grounds were clean and quiet. I would def stay here again!!!!

This is an outstanding campground; easy off and on highway 50, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly staff, clean and well-kept campground. Although all the RV sites are nice, I prefer the sites in the south part of the park. (South Park). If you are traveling in this part of Colorado this is the place to stay, one night or a week, you won't be disappointed!!

We booked the Caboose which was fun but … it was pretty warm the first full day we were there and the air conditioning was too loud to use while sleeping. I would stay again in chilly weather.

Too costly!

We normally would not choose to stay at a KOA park because of the RVs and lights and potential noise of generators, however, the KOA Journey in La Junta was in the right place at the right time on our travels and the unique feature of the train cars was cool! The curtains in our cabin were good and it was a quiet place! We booked a stay in the Caboose Cabin for June! Talking to Brad was a delight.

I liked the theme of the park. It was also easy to get into and find my spot. Restaurant was within walking distance.

We only stayed one night. The office was very nice and friendly. We loved the train cars parked around the area! They answered all our questions about sightseeing in the area. We would come again!

There were 10 rigs and 1 cabin for 22 people in our RV Club. Brad, the owner, and Amanda were friendly and helpful. We were able to use the Recreational Room including the kitchen for our meals, games and meeting. We used the playground complete with shady trees for those waiting to play outside games. Some of us even took a tour of the caboose. The nice campfire was at deluxe site in the back.

While not our normal choice for a campsite (national or state forest/park-we were in town for a business meeting on our way to our vacation) this KOA was clean, organized, and had a friendly and helpful staff. So if KOA type camping is your desire, give this one a stay.

The reception area was nice when we arrived. The manager was very friendly and courteous. He gave detailed instructions. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was nice. The pet area is a little small but lots of room to walk pets. The trailer hookup was easy and site was easy to get into. A very nice KOA on our way through.

Only stayed one night. But the staff was friendly, he gave us bottled water, dog treats and mutt mitts at check in. Not a lot of green space, but very cool amenities overall.

Lovely little campground run by helpful, creative people. I was not there at the best time of year--mostly worried about freezing holding tanks--but I still appreciated the obvious efforts to make this a fun and interesting place! There is even a train car and a caboose to stay in. Nice dog area, well-kept grounds and a "secret" passage through the fence to shops just behind.
