Meet Your Hosts

Open May 1 - September 30

The Dubois area offers some of the best access to wilderness and recreational trails in the West.

Camp nestled along the Wind River, in a beautiful valley between the Wind River and Absaroka mountain ranges. You will be in the heart of Dubois, a rustic western cowboy town just 90 minutes east of Yellowstone National Park and 50 minutes east of Grand Teton National Park. The mountain views are fabulous while still enjoying the conveniences of services and shopping.

The Dubois area offers some of the best access to wilderness and recreational trails in the West. Destination Dubois is a favorite mountain town, with an elevation of 6,917 feet and only 30 miles east of the Continental Divide. Dubois is a great base camp for a true Rocky Mountain experience. One night won't be enough to enjoy all of the scenic driving tours, weekly scheduled natural, historical and cultural events, rodeos, square dances and entertainment famous for its western flair.

Spend a relaxing day trout fishing on the Wind River right out the front door of your RV, Kabin, or tent. Full service hook ups, including municipal water and sewer, electrical and cable sites are available. Amenities also include Kamping Kabins, a playground, an indoor heated pool, a game room, plus laundry, a store and restrooms. Equestrian sites are also available for camping with your horses. So come on and "Cowboy Up" in Dubois.

Close

From managing state parks to managing campgrounds, Rick and Barb Collignon enjoyed an easy transition into the camping business. In 2005 they bought and converted an older campground into a new, up-to-date KOA. "KOA is a strong company that is highly regarded and dependable. We wanted the feature of internet reservations, and KOA has that. It worked out great," said Rick. Rick and Barb have been consistently renovating the campground. Hookups have been updated, and the pool has undergone extensive upgrading. The campground is able to accommodate any type of camper; they have tent sites, cabins, and big rig sites. "Campers can back their RV's up to the Wind River and enjoy all the modern amenities but still experience the surrounding nature," added Rick.

Rick and Barb say that the campground is an easy walk to the main street of Dubois and is a great base of operation for many travelers with many different needs; from attempting summit Gannett Peak to meeting family for reunions, the Dubois campground can do it all. "The campground sits alongside the Wind River and is nestled between two mountains," said Rick. "Campers get the best of both worlds - hike the trails or visit the nearby towns." "Dubois is a destination, and our campground is in town so we are a destination park. People are able to mix and mingle because it is centrally located," said Rick. There is authentic western entertainment many nights of the week. Chuck wagon seats, campfire fun, and western bands frequent the park.

Rick and Barb's goal is to build good will and bring life back into the campground. Because it was converted, campers are likely to see newer facilities and fresh landscaping over the next years. "We want to provide quality experiences for our guests, and keep them coming back," said Rick.
