Deer and antelope still play near the Casper KOA.
Deer and antelope still play near the Casper KOA Campground and RV Park. More than 75 percent of the world's pronghorn antelope live within a 90-mile radius of Wyoming's second-largest city. In many places, the Plains look unchanged from the days when the Oregon, California, Mormon, Bridger, Bozeman and Pony Express trails converged here along the North Platte River. Trail ruts are still visible. Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center or browse pioneer exhibits at the Fort Caspar Museum and Historic Site.
The campground is located in the town of Bar Nunn, five miles north of downtown Casper. At an elevation of 5,284 feet, the campground overlooks the City of Casper and commands an excellent view of the city and Casper Mountain to the south. Public tennis and basketball courts and a baseball diamond are located across the street, and golfers can choose from two public courses, one of which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Or just relax in the big covered pool and hot tub at the Casper KOA (Memorial Day to Labor Day). The whole family can make itself at home here with mini golf, a playground and a pet walk.
Casper KOA is the only onsite owner operated full service campground in the area. We offer free restrooms with hot showers, a 24 hour coin op laundry and a convenience store and gift shop. And we welcome long-term campers all year round. Please join us on your next trip through Wyoming!
Meet Your Hosts
A love for diversity and a thirst for a different lifestyle were the main reasons Al and Susan Dynarski chose to purchase the Casper KOA. "Not only were we in search of a different phase in our lives, we were ready to meet people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We were ready to embark on the next big journey," said Susan. Overseeing a successful campground would be just the way to do it.
Before they purchased the campground, Al was employed as a software engineer and Susan, a divisional operations and events manager for a non-profit trade association. Although they enjoyed their jobs, donning KOA yellow would allow them to combine their skills and work side-by-side as they had in years past. "We wanted to provide a hospitable and enjoyable experience to our guests. Purchasing a KOA campground was a great way to achieve this dream," said Al. They will maintain their goal by always keeping their customer service philosophy in mind: The three "Keep's." "Keep the campground clean, keep the customers smiling, and keep delivering the experience that the customers desire," says Susan.
When Al and Susan have free time, they enjoy auto road racing, snorkeling, and bicycling. Al enjoys woodworking and amateur radio, and Susan loves photography as well.
