Tent Reviews

Jul 24, 2014
We arrived by motorcycles looking for a place to pitch a tent just after the rain had subsided. I was extremely disappointed to find that a tent site with no electricity or water was $49 and change. It was so late and we were wet and tired, they offered me a 10% discount and we agreed. On the way to a very late dinner, I passed two different hotel chains that had $39.95 rooms with free breakfast.

A little too pricy for a primitive tent site ($60.) Other than that, it had clean facilities.

I Always think this is a great place to stay with children. You definitely keep them busy. During this stay I was not happy that there was a group of people that brought solo cups to the children's activity and also at the pool that was filled with alcoholic beverages. I know people drink, It should only be allowed at there camp site and not children's activities area's

The campground is clean and neat, very well cared for. The sites are small, definately not able to have a campfire, too close,.

I was worried about camping with 2 small children but there was so much for them to do. We all had fun and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a great weekend!!

we stayed in the primitive sites and the mosquitoes were very thick although we were told that there weren't many bugs at the front desk. generally the front desk didn't seem to know much about the primitive sights, telling us that they "filled up". when we got to the sites we were the only primitive campers in this mosquito and gnat infested area.

We were only there while passing through so we did not do much at the park. Just pitched a tent and had some ice cream. Everyone seemed very friendly.

Super friendly staff, and most campers were very friendly! All facilities were clean and easy to use. Only problem was loud family that showed up late and was loud until midnight, but front desk staff took care of it.

We had a great time and the many different options for tent camping locations was awesome, not many camp grounds usually offer that! This was our first time with this KOA but we are already planning our next trip back!

dirty and way too expensive

Well to put this in proper perspective...note that I (alone) stayed just one night, arrived with a motorcycle, and camped using a tent. Very simple. I have to say that the people were friendly and accomodating. The facilities were clean and accessible. Thus I have stayed here a number of times over the last few years. HOWEVER...$42.84 is way, way too much for a "primitive" campsite.

with all the empty campsites for this weekend there shouldn't be an extra charge for the campsites. was not happy I had to pay extra for the two grandkids.

What a great park! The only bad part was when my son used his free 15 minutes on the pedal car. I watched him return it in 13 minutes and the girl who issued him the car forgot she gave it to him (even though she wrote his name on the list) and accused him of "having it all day". When she figured it out, she resumed her texting on the phone.

Clean rest rooms and showers. Great staff! Camped a little too close to the dog park the aroma carried over. Thanks will be back 2014 for the next Mopar Nats .

The bathrooms and all other facilities were clean. The staff were extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. I have already recommended it to several friends and will stay there again for sure. I appreciate the number of planned activities for families.

This is the second time staying at this campground. Always fun - clean campground!

Almost double price for tent sites than other places with no better amenities. Fire pits are basically unmarked holes in the ground and dangerous especially to small children. Loud truck sprayed for bugs at 1am.

Facilities that I used were about excellent! Staff at Buckeye Lake are outstanding! I only wished that KOA CEO Jim Rogers was there to have a beer (or 2) with me. :-) It rained that week, but, hey that is camping!
