We've got a lot of new themed events planned in 2014; Wacky Wednesday and Duck Hunting (not the Duck Dynasty type) is back and of course camper favourites like daily wagon rides and movies on the patio in season too. For your added enjoyment, games room, volleyball and basketball courts, and horseshoes are available on site.
Live, Laugh, Lick
Everyone nose Barrie KOA loves our four legged campers! Our Kamp K9 runs offer your pet the freedom to exercise, and play in a safe environment. They might even meet a lifelong friend too!
We also offer grrreat pet-friendly accommodations, where your cat or dog can bunk with you throughout your stay. That means not having to leave them behind when you go on vacation - and no expensive kennel fees! You'll find KOA's pet policy on our website, and we're always happy to answer any questions you may have!
Just for Grown-Ups - Patio Sites in Cedarwood
Cedarwood Country at KOA is ready to host campers looking for a quiet, private getaway. Large concrete patio sites and 100' pull thrus, fully landscaped provides a comfortable camping haven. You'll even have an adults-only recreation hall with a kitchen, exercise equipment and a flat screen TV.
GREEN for KOA Care Camps - E-Waste Event
We had our first E-Waste fundraising event in 2012 for KOA Care Camps. Electronic waste (essentially anything you plug in), has since been collected and the "GREEN" is put towards helping children with cancer to attend summer camp. Helping children, helping the environment. We plan to continue this program, so start saving those items, bring them to Barrie KOA and donate them to a good cause. NO large appliances please (i.e. NO fridges, freezers, A/C, stoves, car batteries).
Thank you KOA for presenting Barrie KOA with the "Kamp Green" award in November 2013 for outstanding participation. Innovative programs such as this are often derived from very dedicated campers such as the ones we know in Al and Sue. We are thankful for their inspiration and participation and the many campers who support this endeavour all year long.Download the details

KOA Loves four-legged Campers
We know you enjoy sharing the pleasures of camping with your dogs or cats. To ensure that all guests have a safe and enjoyable experience, Barrie KOA has established some guidelines.
When You Arrive:
- Good behavior is required. Dogs of any breed that are hostile or aggressive will be asked to leave the campground, along with their owners.
- Bring the leash. Dogs must be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet when outside their owners' vehicles or rental units. Do not leave a tethered dog unattended. Pets may not be left unattended in a camping unit or accommodation.
- Remember manners. Constant barking bothers other campers. If your pet is too vocal, you'll need to find other accommodations
- Bring your helper. Service dogs are welcomed at all KOA campgrounds. (Leash and aggressive behavior rules apply.)
GREEN for KOA Care Camps - E-Waste Event Carries On
Barrie KOA was recognized with a prestigious "Kamp Green" award for its innovative electronics recycling program that invites campers and the public to bring in outdated electronic devices for recycling. The funds collected from the recycling center are donated to the KOA Care Camps for children with cancer charity. With inspiration from Al and Sue, frequent campers to Barrie KOA, we share this award. And so the tradition continues, if you have electronic waste (essentially anything you plug in), we will take it off your hands and put the "GREEN" towards helping children with cancer to attend summer camp. Helping children, helping the environment. Collection bins are available at the campground. NO large appliances please (i.e. NO fridges, freezers, A/C, stoves, car batteries).http://www.ecyclesolutions.com/Download the details

Meet Your Hosts
""It is like an extended family because it is so intertwined with our lives.""
At a time when most people can barely decide what to do with their life, Tony and Amy Raposo owned a campground. In 1986, the Raposos, then just in their early twenties, decided to make a bold move and purchase a KOA campground. Tony was working fulltime at his parent's family farm, and Amy was finishing her last year of university.
"It was my father's idea, being an entrepreneur," Amy said. "He showed us how campground ownership suited both our talents and interests." In a handshake deal, the Raposos bought a campground just 30 minutes away from home. Back then the newly-married couple didn't run the campground with the same intensity as they do now. "We were so bored during the off season that we would go get jobs. We did that for a couple of years," Amy said.
Those days are over as the business requires around-the-year attention. Barrie KOA is a family-run business with the couple's three children growing up and working on the campground. "We started with the campground, and it is all we have ever known," she said. "It is like an extended family because it is so intertwined with our lives."
Their customer service keeps up with the campers' changing needs. "We do as much as we can for the customers," Tony said. "We are continually upgrading the campground in order to give campers what they want and keep them coming back."
Tony described the couple as "hands on" owners, with a remarkable staff who support and believe in the campground as much as we do". "As our KOA grows, it makes life that much more interesting," Tony said.
