The Dentzel Carousel

Meridian's one of a kind historic carousel and carousel house, along with Highland Park, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The Carousel House is the only remaining original carousel building built from a Dentzel blueprint.

Jimmie Rodgers Museum

The Father of Country Music was also known as the 'Singing Brakeman' was born in Meridian in 1897. Jimmie was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1961. The Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Festival is held in May each year and is a showcase of talent for well known country music artists.

Dunn's Falls

Visit an authentic grist mill of 1857, preserved in working order and experience the 65-foot waterfall once used as the power source. Stetson hats were also manufactured here. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and wade in the waters of the Chunky River.

Grand Opera House

The Mississippi State University Riley Center's Grand Opera House features historic architecture with modern amenities and the latest in technology to create the ultimate performing arts experience. Built in 1889.

Soule' Live Steam Festival and Railfest

Come for the Festival and also visit the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum, a project to restore the Soule' Steam Feed Works Industrial Site.

Rose Hill Cemetery

Visit the graves of Emil and Kelly Mitchell, King and Queen of all the gypsies in the United States. Rose Hill Cemetery is open all year, and admission is free.

Causeyville General Store
