Campground Reviews

Helpful staff, kids loved the jumping pillow. Was surprised to learn about the wired internet option. It would be great if the store had more connection options for other unprepared visitors with newer laptops (HDMI connection).

After staying in the Nashville KOA then heading to St. Louis we booked a night at the Granite City KOA. In Nashville we paid $74 in Granite City we paid $62. Granite City had half the amenities and half the cleanliness and over all appearance. The following night we decided to drive the extra 10 miles from town to the St Louis Historic Route 66 KOA for only $46 it was much nicer and cleaner.

Very clean front andy and helpful here. I was impressed with the care of comfort for all campers especially the tents having their own cubbies to protect from wind giving privacy.

Ok for overnight. Little difficult to find.

The cabins are so close to one another I could hear the family of five all weekend. Cob webs behind beds. No privacy at all. Love KOA but not this one.

We came in at 9:00 park is not well lighted. Unable to locate site number without getting out of the vehicle to look at electrical box. In industrial area not very eye appealing also by railroad tracks. Not very well maintained.

The campground was secure enough to feel comfortable for an overnight stay but could definitely benefit from much ground maintenance. While many of the KOAs we stayed had poor wifi service Granite City KOA was the worst. Lucky to watch over 5 min of news or anything else.

Pretty basic. Not KOA quality at all. Ok fir a stopover but very run down in an industrial area. Staff is pleasant but that's about it.

It looks rundown, although they were mulching a garden area near the office. I didn’t receive any KOA rewards and staff had no idea. And cable/WiFi out for foreseeable future. If we would have known that initially, would not have booked this campground

Nice campground was perfect for a base camp to check out the St. Louis area. Far better than what some negative reviews posted. In an industrial area but no issue when I was there; there are trees and hedges around the campground so you never knew it. I would have no hesitation staying there again or recommending to others. Staff was very pleasant and checked to see if I had everything needed.

The campground was fine but I was surprised to see, just minutes after I checked in, the office was closed with "Closed for the Winter" signs. The only thing I really missed was getting coffee in the morning but nothing important. Overall, it was fine.

The facilities were clean and functional, especially the nice bathrooms/showers. Overall, the place was drab and needed some sparkle added. The WiFi didn't work. Our RV experienced some electrical issues we didn't have at other campgrounds, but I'm not sure how to describe them, and it may not be a problem at the KOA.

Trains, dump trucks throughout the night. Dirty unkempt office. Use for emergency overbites only

Petit, too much traffic noise from industrial areas next door. Not well kept.

Every was great

Clean, open spaces, well maintained. The young men at the office were courteous, friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

It was nice that we could check in after 5 pm. It is a bummer that you can not have a campfire. If wood fires are not allowed, the campground should provide propane fire pits. Bathrooms we ok. It was very quiet which is appreciated. The pillow bouncer was an awesome addition.

I understand you don’t have control of your surroundings but what you have can look a whole lot nicer. Unkempt property. Dead trees needing trimmed. Most things you need at a campground were broken here. When the grounds keeper passes a leftover broken sewage hose for more than 2 days that kinda sets the tone for the whole park. Sorry but that’s what we ex experienced.

Great place for a night or two. Very friendly people and nice level spots

My favorite place to stay as we pass through to the east side of the US.

Very nice. Close to attractions.

We called ahead to get our site number as we were arriving when the sun was down and the staff member refused to give us that information. It was upsetting as we had already paid days in advance, and our site was locked in. We would have liked to plan ahead how we would enter the park and settle in to our site as we do at every campground we stay at.

Arrived a few minutes before office closed. Staff not welcoming. Told us stuff outside. Not helpful. Otherwise ok. Bathrooms clean.

Great RV Park, especially with the fall colors in full swing. Wish we had more time to explore the park and what it had to offer.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Just stayed one night but will be back.

Nice place

It's unbelievable to me how often the wifi is not working at camping facilities. The main 2 reason always given is there was a storm, or the cable was cut. A storm was the reason given at Granite City. If wifi is not going to be offered, please be kind enough to say you don't have it and certainly don't charge people for it if it's not an amenity. Wifi is often a major reason we come!

got in just after 6 office closed , but reservation in box overall pretty good

This KOA was very convenient to highways and downtown St. Louis. This KOA easy to get to. Staff was good. All was quiet except 1 or 2 trains. We felt safe at night in this industrial area. Would stay again.

No cable, no internet, lousy entrance located behind industrial park
Oct 16, 2023
Unfortunately there was no cable and Internet. Dog park poop garbage was overflowing with bags of poop. No real services like garbage pick up. Some campers made a huge campfire that Manager had no idea about. Very disappointing for a KOA.

A very noisy industrial setting. Safe friendly clean place if you need it.

We stayed here 2 days and I never witnessed any staff doing any work, other than checking in arrivals. I cleaned up after my dogs only to find the dog poo container full and never emptied. Wi-Fi and cable were down and apparently have been for weeks. This campground has potential but has been neglected and is run down. WAY over priced for the state it's in, and for how it's run. Poor for a KOA.

We had a very enjoyable time and the workers were wonderful and very helpful

This was a rustic and rundown site. I understand we were tenting out of season (October), but there wasn't anything nice about the place except perhaps the young man who checked us in. The shower head had no hot water and shot out at the curtain and my clothes. The outside washing sink was filled with tree debris. Trash from the next site was still there. The location was ok; the site was not

Needs upkeep.

Location was perfect to bike ride into town, bike the chain of rocks bridge and watch the sunset on the banks of the Mississippi!

Looking for a RV site close to the attractions in St Louis, found this park wasn't to sure about it after reading the previous reviews but we pulled in without a reservation. Desk crew was very helpful and was in a site in just a few minutes. Good gravel interior roads full hookups, cabins and tent sites also. Park is located in an industrial area but once you are in the park you wouldn't know it. Pool, propane, laundry closes at 6pm, clean bathrooms with showers. 10 miles from the Arch 4 miles from Chain of Rocks bridge. Like all KOAs it's a little bit pricey but definitely the best park we found close to town. Seems safe easy in and out WiFi worked great would have given 5 stars if the laundry was open later.
