We'll have craft time in the Barn weekends May-Oct. Candy bar bingo, minute to win it, and many more family fun games and competitions.
Local activities
We have fishing, boating, hiking , horseback riding and ATV trails close by. There are bluegrass & country music festivals, antique malls, flea markets, wineries and orchards, as well. For those who love history, several Civil War Battlefields are close by to explore. Rockcastle county is also noted for many caves, including historic Great Saltpetre Cave, Sinks of Roundstone Cave, Pine Hill Cave, and more for the adventureous.

Renfro Valley Entertainment Center - 0.5 Mile
This entertainment venue features live country music shows, family comedy plus a unique shopping village. Catch your favorite artist, or be a part of the Fiddlers festival or Bluegrass festival. There is a 65 year tradition of country music in Renfro Valley.
Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum - 0.5 Mile
The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum honors Kentucky performers, songwriters, publishers, promoters, managers, broadcasters, comedians and other music professionals who have made significant contributions to the music industry in Kentucky and around the world.
Bittersweet Cabin Museum - 0.5 Mile
The museum includes a craft store and log cabin village museum exhibiting artifacts dating back to the 1700's. Let your family experience a taste of our past.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park
Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is located deep within the beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest. Known as the "Niagara of the South," the waterfall forms a 125-foot wide curtain that plunges 60 feet into the boulder-strewn gorge below. The mist of Cumberland Falls creates the magic of the Moonbow, only visible on a clear night during a full moon. This unique phenomenon appears nowhere else in the Western Hemisphere. Cumberland Falls is a hiker's paradise with 17 miles of hiking trails that wind through the park to waterfalls, fire towers, a beach, forest, and other scenic area. The Moonbow trail connects with many backpacking trails in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Guided horseback rides, guided white water rafting, swimming, and fishing are also other options for great family funtimes.
Colonel Harland Sanders Café and Museum
Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, is one of the most highly recognized figures in the world. Laurel County, Kentucky, located in the heart of the beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest, is proud to be the home of the Colonel's first and original restaurant established in the 1940's. Lee Cummings, co-founder of Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, also began his career in 1952 with his uncle, Colonel Sanders, in Laurel County.
The Annual World Chicken Festival is a tribute to this heritage. We invite you to the international celebration set for September in beautiful downtown London. Filled with "egg-citement", more than 250,000 people attend the four-day event each year.
McDowell House and Pioneer Playhouse
As you plan to visit the Bluegrass area of Kentucky, be sure to include a tour of the 18th century McDowell House, Apothecary and Gardens. In a personally guided tour, you will hear the story of Dr. Ephraim McDowell, pioneer surgeon, and see this meticulously restored home, medical office and gardens.
Lake Cumberland State Resort Park
Lake Cumberland State Resort Park is one of the finest fishing and pleasure boating areas in the eastern United States. The resort is a haven for large deer herds and raccoon populations. Park guests enjoy feeding the raccoons just outside Lure Lodge every evening. Lake Cumberland State Resort Park also features the only indoor pool complex in the park system. A glass-backed elevator, plant-filled atrium, exercise room, and hot tub add a luxurious touch to Lure Lodge! For year-round entertainment, Lake Cumberland State Resort Park furnishes a paradise for the water sports enthusiast. The marina offers 100 open slips, rental fishing boats, pontoon boats, houseboats and ski boats. With 50,250 acres, Lake Cumberland has an abundance of largemouth, smallmouth, white and Kentucky bass, bluegill, crappie, rockfish and walleye.
Kentucky Horse Park
Located on 1,032 acres of beautiful bluegrass countryside, the Kentucky Horse Park represents the spirit and nobility of the horse in a state whose tradition celebrates the horse with large farms of gently rolling hills and miles of white fences. The Kentucky Horse Park is home to more than 40 different breeds of horses at the only park of its kind. Dedicated to the horse, the Man o' War memorial is one of the park's most popular attractions. The International Museum of the Horse explores 58 million years of equine history with two floors of exciting visual images, displays and hands-on exhibits for adults and children. The William G. Kenton Gallery exhibits the work of this country's top equine artists with several shows a year. A gift shop features a large selection of sporting prints, books on horses, regional crafts, souvenirs and fine gifts.
Big South Fork National Park
Take a trip back in time to a logging and coal era with a ride on the Kentucky and Tennessee Railway. This 16 mile round trip takes you into the Daniel Boone National Forest . Full of spectacular scenic vistas and mountain streams, it descends 600 feet into the gorge before stopping at a mining camp. Your ticket will include admission to the McCreary County Museum.
Shaker Village
Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, inhabited by Shakers until 1910, is a National Historic Landmark. There are 34 original buildings to tour, where costumed interpreters bring the past to life. You may also enjoy a ride on the Dixie Belle Riverboat, a tour of the craft shops, or a meal inspired by ingredients grown from nearby farmers. www.shakervillageky.org
Historic Danville and Perryville
There is plenty to see and do for the whole family in Danville-Perryville. Constitution Square in Danville is the birthplace of Kentucky’s statehood. There’s also Kentucky’s first Post Office, log courthouse, jail and meeting house. Civil war enthusiasts will want to visit the Perryville Battlefield. Visit the McDowell House, site of the world’s first abdominal surgery. Guided tours of the home, apothecary and gardens recount this fascinating story.
Kentucky Railway Museum
The Kentucky Railway Museum, just off the beaten path in New Haven seeks to preserve America’s love with the railroad. Recapture the gentle excitement of the local passenger train when it was small-town America’s link with the world. Ride through forests, fields and farmlands, through the scenic and historic Rolling Fork River Valley. Boarding at New Haven or Boston, just fifteen minutes south of Bardstown, your twenty-two mile journey takes an hour and a half. Visit the Museum’s collection of railroad artifacts and memorabilia, housed in a replica of the original New Haven depot.
Kentucky Artisan Center
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea features a wide range of Kentucky's Artisan products. At the Center you will find crafted metal, glass, woodworking, pottery and even some of Kentucky's own specialty foods you are sure to find that special gift or souvenir to take home. Rockcastle River Canoe Livery
The Rockcastle River is a state protected "wild river" and one of the most beautiful in the United States. Undeveloped, with few access points, the entire river flows through the Daniel Boone National Forest. The only way to fully enjoy the solitude and adventure of exploring the river and forest, just as it was 200 years ago, is by canoe...a truly unique experience. One or two day trips offered as well as extended trips up to five days.
Anglin Falls
Located in John B. Stephenson Memorial Forest, this rich wooded ravine is open to the public for hiking, bird watching and nature study. It is about a 3/4 mile hike, sometimes steep climbing, from the parking area to the falls.
Camp Wildcat Civil War Battlefield
Visit the historic site where the Battle of Wildcat Mountain took place along the Wilderness Road. Walk the trails blazed by Civil War soldiers, many of whom were facing fire for their first time. The hike takes approximately and hour and a half if you stop and read the wayside exhibits highlighting different points of the battle and general information of that era.
Saltpetre Cave Festival
Open house at the Saltpetre Cave Saturday May 19th 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday May 20th 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Visit this historic cave, which was a significant source of saltpetre during the War of 1812, and enjoy the living history encampment, local authors and concessions. Admission is FREE, donations appreciated.

This national motorcycle event is considered one of the best wooded rides in the east. We're looking forward to another great turnout.
May 11-13 Mother's Day and Come Camp with us Wknd
Celebrate those incredible women in your life, with activities that honor her. Crafts for kids to make for Mom, FREE breakfast for all moms on Sunday, etc... It is also our pay for Friday night and stay Saturday Free Come Camp and Care weekend.
May 25-28 Memorial Day Weekend
Come celebrate with us at our KOA County Fair weekend. We'll have games, crafts, fair foods, and FUN!
June 15-17 Father's Day
Great men in the great outdoors, with a great big FREE breakfast on Sunday. We'll also have crafts for the kids to make for Dad and other activities to honor the men we appreciate!
July 4th week
We'll celebrate the red, white, and blue with fireworks here on the 4th, and continue to celebrate with our Hillbilly Family Olympics, July 6-8. Competitions, crafts, food and fun.
Aug. 31- Sept. 3 Wild West Labor Day Weekend
It's going to be a rootin', tootin', shoot out shootin' weekend. Don't miss our famous steak dinner, the crafts, the games, and that ornery critter Stinky Pete.
September 21-23 Cornhole Tournament & Chili cookoff.
We have so much fun with this, it's no wonder that it's an annual event. Prizes, fun & fellowship - not to mention a healthy dose of competition!
