Halfway between musically rich Macon and cosmopolitan Atlanta-and with easy access to I-75-the Forsyth KOA lies in the heart of Georgia.
Though you'd never know it from the quiet country setting, the campground is convenient to the city services of Forsyth and a host of regional attractions. Sample true Southern hospitality in lively little villages. Explore lovely lakes, splashing waterfalls and rivers plump with catfish. Snap photos in charming Juliette, where Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed, then cool off on 3,600- acre Lake Juliette. Movie fans can relive Gone with the Wind at Jonesboro's Road to Tara Museum, less than an hour's drive. Visit Macon during its popular Cherry Blossom Festival for a burst of spring color. Gather your group at KOA's Rally Center with its full-service kitchen. Basketball, volleyball, pedal boats and more keep everyone busy.
Meet Your Hosts
The grass doesn't grow long at the Forsyth KOA, and it certainly doesn't grow under the feet of owners Ken and Mary Ann Bowman.
Just like you, they are travelers at heart, and have already taken their motorhome to 49 of the 50 states. They've been to Hawaii, too, but they left their motorhome on the mainland.
Before purchasing the campground in 1996, Ken was in private business and also worked as a federal program director, while Mary Ann had a career as a teacher.
"We wanted a campground to enable Mary Ann and me to work together at something we enjoy," says Ken. "We love providing what the campers want and we receive a lot of joy observing them enjoying our services."
Be sure to check out the campground's new Rally Center, which now enables the Bowmans to spoil groups, too.

Hunting is available in both Federal and State game management areas.
Fishing/boating
Enjoy great fishing and boating on Lake Juliette, Lake Tobesofkee, High Falls Lake, Jackson Lake and the Ocmulgee River. The Ocmulgee is ideal for day canoe trips.

Jarrell Plantation Historic Site
Nestled in the red clay hills of Georgia, this cotton plantation was owned by a single family for more than 140 years. It survived Gen. Sherman's March to the Sea, typhoid fever, emancipation, reconstruction, the cotton boll weevil, the advent of steam power and a transition from farming to forestry. Macon Cherry Blossom Festival
Each March, Macon becomes a pink cotton-spun paradise of delight as over 275,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in all their glory. For 10 days, festival-lovers are treated to one of the most extravagant displays of springtime color as they visit one of the top 100 festivals in North America. Hay House-Palace of the South
Built in the middle 1800s, this 18,000 square foot Renaissance Revival mansion is now a National Historic Landmark.
Georgia Music Hall of Fame

Georgia Sports Hall of Fame
Georgia's storied athletic heritage is featured in this 43,000 square foot facility. Cannonball House & Museum

Warner Robins Air Force Museum
The Warner Robins Air Force museum is now the second largest museum in the United States Air Force. Displays include 93 aircraft and hundreds of exhibits on a beautiful 43 acre site. Andersonville National Prisoner of War Museum

Georgia Aquarium

Bass Pro
For the sporting enthusiasts in your family, a must visit is the new eastern distribution center and 120,000 square foot shopping bonanza located about 14 miles south of the Kampground. You will be amazed at all of the exhibits and available merchandise. Visit the Bass Pro web page for details.

Shopping
If shopping is your thing, then we are the place for you. In Macon, we have two large shopping areas - Eisenhower Crossing and Macon Mall. And about 20 miles north are the Tanger Outlet stores, plus you antique lovers will enjoy visiting the towns and villages in the area, to find that special treasure.
Juliette, Georgia
Whether you have seen the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" or not, you will certainly want to visit where it was filmed and eat some fried green tomatoes. Juliette is located about eight miles east of the Kampground and is a great place to visit.
