"We believe in the Golden Rule and we treat our customers like family and make their stay trouble-free and enjoyable," says Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas KOA owner Gary Willis. Gary built this beautiful campground from scratch in 2006. Since then he's added several new features; his favorite is the private fishing lake, which is stocked every year by Gary and his KOA team.
"The kids love it," Gary says. "They can fish all they want. It's fun to watch their faces when they finally reel in a fish."
Gary knows that a successful business is built on happy customers, since he's been an entrepreneur and owned, operated and developed many businesses over more than 30 years, in addition to being a Certified Public Accountant. "I thought a campground would be a great investment, and this is a great location. I love the beautiful, shaded natural sites, walking trails and shady pine cabin sites here."
When he's not working, you'll find Gary on a motorcycle enjoying a road trip, or in a boat enjoying the water, or on a horse. "If it runs or rides, I ride it!"
