Shelly was very helpful on the phone. She assured me that we would have east access to the cabin, restrooms and parking for a 26 foot U Haul. We did. The cabin was complete with fresh linens and the restrooms were clean and very well kept. Thank you for a pleasant rest after a very long day of travel.

This was a nice KOA. There were lots of lights from the motel next door so had to carefully close curtains and blinds. This KOA was nicer than most KOA Journey RV parks. We would stay here again.

Very nice, a bit noisy because of proximity to freeway freeway. Derrick was very helpful and friendly. A nice place to stay.

The best part of our stay was Derrick- so helpful and kind. The sewer connection was cracked and not repaired properly. The site was very tight and we had guide wires at our door.

Friendly accommadating staff. Clean restrooms and bath house. Parcel pavement, pull thru site are level with full hook up. I had to extend my stay and there was no problem with that. Would I stay there again ? Yes.

Denise in the office was very helpful when our friend had problems with his membership. Great place for a couple nights . Check out the Frontier Texas exhibit at the visitor center ..

Great location, plenty of space, nice people, my only complaint was the dust. I would stay here again if I was in the area. Abilene itself is a bit rundown, lagging behind in urban development.

We couldn’t even stay here. We arrived and the mosquitos were so bad you would get swarmed when you got out of your vehicle. They need to spray for mosquitos at this campground. We started to set up and then just left instead it was so bad. We have never had to do that at any other campground

This is a lovely little KOA. We stayed here two days had the large patio site. The site was level. All staff members were very kind and friendly. We will definitely come back here and stay again.

The park was very nice with many trees throughout and it is very tidy. The park is also very conveniently located just next to the interstate but is a bit noisy so you will have to determine if the park meets your needs. For us we were just passing through so it was great and the staff was very helpful for our late arrival.

Well maintained and well appointed. Most notable was employee noticing about site alignment with our rig and recommending location change. Made the changes for us and helped us move. Most helpful and caring!

I know this KOA is under new management and is short staffed, it would be nice to block the lights from the Motel 6, they have super bright lights all around their building that when tent camping there is no hiding from those lights unless you close completely up, which is not good to block ventilation. Also maybe more amenities and decor could spice up the place and draw more customers in.

The playground was nice and shady for the kids to play. The facilities were nice. The hours of the office were the shortest we have experienced. The staff were friendly.

Very nice level site which we appreciate since our leveling system broke! Park was very clean! A very secure KOA Park! Everyone was very friendly, we had our propane filled, which was done by I think Amy, very knowledgeable!

We just had a quick stop over. Park was clean, staff was very nice. Located right off the highway, which was helpful. We stayed there in our 40’ Super C.

The staff was very kind, patient and accommodating especially when I ask to change my site. The restrooms were spotless and the showers were clean with good water pressure. The camp was quiet with all the other campers respecting both privacy and avoiding light pollution.

Very impressed with the new owners of this KOA. They are implementing many improvements. Great dog park also highly maintained. Need a password protected internet these days, that’s required.

The Abilene KOA Campground on a whole is a nice campground, however, with that said, the internet service leaves one to wonder. With technology the way it has improved and gives one the capability to work from home and while they traveling. When one tries to logon to the Abilene KOA network they are lucky if they actually get connected, this is unacceptable. Thank you

We stayed just for a weekend trip to just get away from home . It was a great get away! The people were nice , it was quiet and the bathrooms were amazing !!! I could use the bathrooms without feeling like I need to burn my clothes when I left ! We enjoyed it! If I could change anything is that it had a kids play ground more my son's age . He's 11 and a lot of the toys on the play ground were too little for him! But overall a great weekend !

Nice enough for a night or two, or longer if you don't mind a little highway noise and the occasional sound of a B1B taking off or landing in the distance. The Good: Clean bath/shower rooms with enough pressure and temp for a good hot shower. Nice little playground for the little kids. Nice little dog park for the furry family members. Good sized sites, level and hard pack/paved (we were in a pull thru) and full hookups. Nice laundry room with competitive pricing $3.50 for a wash and dry as of this writing. There's also a little book and "stuff" exchange area in the corner of the laundry room. The staff are friendly and jovial. The Meh: Cell coverage (we have Verizon and ATT with a WeBoost) and wifi coverage is poor to spotty, with the wifi being non-existent further back in campground. Highway noise and the lights from the motel next door are noticeable if you're in the front of the park. If you're planning to stay for a while, ask for a spot in the back of the park. If you need propane, get it prior to arrival as theirs is out of service and has been for at least a couple of months (we stopped here in February and it was out of service then, it's now April)...not sure if they have any plans to bring it back online or not. Overall: The good far outweighs the meh and this is a good stop along I-20 if you need to rest for a spell.
