We love the Galveston Island KOA! The staff is wonderful, the activities are fun and family friendly, and the staff and visitors become family. Definitely a trip we look forward to every year.

Galveston Island KOA was great. We booked really late for Memorial Day Weekend, so we got a spot near the highway (do not recommend - lots of road noise). But had I been on top of my “reservation game,” I would have booked a spot closer to the pool, and one with a deck so you can get a nice view of the bay and maybe a glimpse of the beach. The pool and lazy river were packed, but kept clean.

The stay was very enjoyable, the park was clean staff was very helpful and friendly. Only issue I had was I was told to turn off my music because it "conflicted" with the music you guys were playing. I did not have it blaring and it was not full of curse word and noone could hear the music yall had playing anyways. Other than that I would definitely vist this park again.

Despise the $40 reserve your spot. Called, got a spot, called 2 more times (it was still mine). Get there and we’ve been moved to the road. The road noise of a holiday weekend was not what I was looking forward to! Sold out to a higher bidder. Ants were EVERYWHERE. My family won’t be back and in fact, cancelled our July 4th reservation. Again, Will Not Return there again.

I'm sorry your site was not available. That is why we recommend the Site Guarantee if you are set on a specific one. You did not want to do that and unfortunately on the sold out holiday weekend, it was not available. You did lock in your July stay, but not the May one.

Pros: Friendly staff, nice frozen cocktails available for purchase, nice pool, great live music for Memorial Day, dog park Cons: Crowded, noisy neighbors, beach is too far to walk with beach supplies- very disappointed, wish the showers were temperature controlled in severe heat

Wish there was a outdoor shower at both pool and lazy river. Need a food truck since everything is so far. Not just tamales.

Beautiful place but could not go out and enjoy sitting outside because the mosquitoes would carry you off. Loved the lazy river.

Nice clean park. Friendly staff. Need bathrooms spread out. Need showers spread out. mosquitoes are horrendous Why are all campers grouped so tightly when there are so many vacancies and open areas to utilize

We had an RV slot for 11 nights and a cabins for 2 nights. The KOA is clean with plenty to do. The beach is a short walk across the road. The staff were friendly and accommodating. BUT the mosquitos made everything almost unbearable. We have 30-40 bites each AFTER bug spray. Pool? Walk the dog? Playground? Lazy River? Sunbathe? Mosquitos everywhere. Tons in their showers. No where was safe.

Way too many mosquitoes. So many that repellant didn’t even work. Not sure there is much you can do about that but they are really bad. Otherwise it was great, no issues. The beach is just right across the street.

The Galveston KOA is the most perfectly groomed campground we have seen so far. The lots are very spacious and the staff is super friendly.

We've stayed at this location before and have always enjoyed our time! The facilities like the pools, playground, firepits, etc are always in excellent condition. Sites are large and in great shape. The only downside could be the incredible amount of mosquitos and fire ants (perhaps treating the grounds would help) and the strictness with which the rules are enforced is a bit stifling.

We stayed in a cabin. It was nice. Smaller than we expected. Said It slept 8 which worked out great. But needed a little more space. Love the restrooms they added by pool. Very convenient.

large sites with good S/W/P. Lots of activities. about 10 miles to Galveston activities. Beach access is plentiful and within reasonable distance. Mosquitos were horrible. Set up for families but there are adult activities and drinks available.

It was awesome as always! One of the cleanest well kept camp grounds we stay at! Love all the activities and the staff, they are all awesome and helpful. This is one of our go to campgrounds. :)

All staff members were very friendly. Landscaping was perfect. Laundry room needs to be larger. Very crowded if everyone is there doing laundry. All activities were great. We’re booked to return next year.

Great overall stay with friendly staff, appealing facilities and nice amenities. Would love it if the grounds didn’t have so many dang stickers to deal with especially if you have dogs. Nice to have midweek activities for us all, not just on the weekends. Thanks, April B.

Great place to stay in Galveston with nearby beach access. Only things left wanting were grilling facilities as most of the grills were clapped out from the sea being so nearby and exposure to constant wind off the beach. The bathrooms are all elevated so if you have mobility issues, this may be daunting although there is a long ramp to access. The last thing was that there is no sidewalk access to the beach. Plan on walking alongside of the busy highway on the grass because not much of a shoulder and cars are going through pretty quickly. Outside those things the grounds were really nice and well kept, the staff were very affable and helpful, the pool area and lazy rivers were nice although we didn't use them as the weather was a bit rainy on and off. When our plans fell through at the state park, the KOA was a good alternate and would definitely recommend. Will likely come back at some point. Friendly people and friendly neighbors.
