Top the Tator


  • 1  Tbsp  butter
  • 3-4  medium potatoes
  • 1/2  bag shredded cheese
  • salt (or seasoned salt) (optional)
  • pepper (optional)
  • onions (optional)
  • sour cream
  • tin foil for cooking


Put Diced Butter into about 12 inches of Tin Foil. Slice potatoes to desired thickness (not too thin, not too thick). Arrange potatoes over butter, salt (or seasoned salt) and pepper to your own taste, and add onions if you wish. Fold Tin Foil into pouch (bring sides together at the top and fold the two edges together). Cook on Grill (or in camper oven at 350°) until potatoes begin to get soft (about 30-45 minutes). Once the potates are done, carefully open pouches, and spread a layer of shredded cheese over the top of the potatoes and cook for about 5 more minutes. Serve with sour cream. Clean up is also a breeze.
