Roxbury Special


  • 1  pound(s)  ground beef
  • 1  16 oz. can tomatoes (whole or crushed)
  • 1  8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1  4 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1  small sweet onion
  • 1  clove garlic
  • basil
  • Italian parsley
  • rosemary (or dried Italian seasoning)
  • 1  pound(s)  box elbow pasta


Cook ground beef and onion in a dutch oven or deep frying pan. Add garlic, spices and tomatoes, sauce and paste when meat is cooked through. In a separate pot, cook pasta according to directions. Combine all ingredients into one pot, cook until hot. Serve with bread and a simple salad.

Do ahead tip: I make my sauce at home, cook the meat, and transport that in a container in my cooler. Then, after I boil the macaroni and drain, I combine the meat sauce and cook until hot.
