Shrimp Kabob Buffet

Shrimp Kabob Buffet

Making shrimp kabobs is a fun-filled family event that everyone can help with. It's basically putting ingredients into seperate bowls and let everyone skewer want they want.

Ingredients

  • Medium shrimp (20 - 30)
  • Pearl Onions
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Green Bell Peppers, chunked
  • Pineapple, chunked
  • 1  c  Butter
  • 1  Tbsp  Olive Oil
  • Juice from a lime
  • Fresh dill
  • Garlic Powder
  • dash  Cajun Spice or Cayan Pepper (optional)

Preparation

Wet your bamboo skewers so they don't burn. Put each ingredient (except marinade ingredients) into seperate bowls. Let each person take two or three skewers and start adding ingredients onto the skewers until they are filled.

While everyone at your campsite are enjoying making their skewers, heat a saute pan or small pot. Melt butter, olive oil, lime juice, dill, garlic powder, and any other spices you would like to try. For a little bit of zing, try adding a dash of cajun spice. Stir and simmer on low heat for a few minutes to blend all the flavors, but don't let the butter burn (turn brown). Pour over the skewers when everyone is finished making them. You can make more marinade if there are a lot of skewers. Reserve some marinade for the end

.

Heat up your grill to a medium flame (you can use any kind of grill as long as there is a flame to cook with). Add the skewers and brown on one side. Turn over and brown the other side. Close lid and reduce heat (flame) for about ten to fifteen minutes or until the shrimp is pink (cooked).

Now here's the fun part! Using a fork, take all the ingredients off of the skewers into a festive bowl. Drizzle the remaining marinade over the top, garnish with dill, and let everyone dig in! Serve with some Hawaiian bread and you have yourself a mini luau!!
