Crab Meat Appetizer


Makes 46

  • 1 8 ounce white crab meat or 1/2 pound fresh (shelled)
  • 1 15 ounce can grapefruit slices (in its own juice)
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp horseradish
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp white wine or water


Thoroughly drain crab meat and grapefruit, then mix together in a medium or large bowl and then transfer to serving dishes (4 to 6). Cover and refrigerate. Whisk or mix sauce ingredients with a fork, combining all ingredients well (increase or decrease horseradish to taste). Cover and refrigerate. Chill both ingredients in separate containers for 3-4 hours. Just before serving, pour approximately 1 and 1/4 Tablespoons of sauce on each individual serving and serve (diners should mix ingredients in individual dishes before eating).
