Meet Your Hosts

Ben Kelsey

Our greatest pleasure is bringing people together in the outdoors. We have the best job there is!

Ben and Kristi have a long history all over the country with KOA. Working in a variety of different rolls in virtually every existent biome in the United States; travel, hospitality, the great outdoors, and making good things great are among the passions they bring with them to the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA. Ben was born on a KOA Campground, and has a lifetime of experience working in every position from the front desk as a teenager to a Regional Assistant with OAK Property Management and nearly everything in between. Most recently he has traded in his straw sun hat for a parka as he and Kristi have made the trek across the country from the Tucson/Lazydays KOA Resort. "It turns out my best Arizona snow shovel isn't good enough for the winter here." Ben jokes. He is most looking forward to meeting the wonderful people that have been camping at the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Holiday for years, and welcoming in guests who are brand new to our park. Kristi has spent years working within the KOA system as well, beginning at the front desk for a franchise property, and moving on to Assistant and then Operations Management positions at several of the OAK Properties from the Atlantic to the Pacific. "I got into this business because I love people, the outdoors, and travel." Kristi tells us. "There is nothing better than meeting new people and learning new things in as many beautiful places as possible." Ben and Kristi love kayaking, hiking, trying local beers, spending time with their 7 children, and of course traveling as much as possible.
