Our cabin smelled like mold, mildew, sweaty socks. My husband thought it smelled like a dead animal. We looked over the cabin and no animal that was a relief. It cooled down at night so we left the windows open and that helped. Didnt spend much time in the cabin since it was an excellent place to stay to see ALL of the Washington DC sights.

Glad I didn't listen to the comments which is needed...but but experience was different. I had nice staff, clean camp ground, clean bathrooms and shower, cabin needed some dusting but other than that, my stay was good. This campsite is just a pass-through to visit the DC/Baltimore area. Enjoy!

Quiet hours not enforced. Unless I had the air conditioner on, I could clearly hear people talking loudly across the drive from my cabin after hours.

Cabin was comfortable, kitchen well-outfitted, the provided towels were appreciated but the toilet bowl was unclean as were the kitchen table and windowsills. Overall experience was disappointing. The pool sides & bottom were in need of a deep-cleaning even though the water seemed ok. With the exception of an occasional smile, the staff were unwelcoming, almost surly at times.

I ask for a cabin that was handicap accessible. They gave us a cabin the was on a downhill slant and had 6 stairs to climb to get into it. The bathroom was so far away from the site we had to drive my mom to the bathroom. They told us to let her use a bucket! The lifeguard that was on duty most of our stay was very rude and made children cry. We made the best of our stay but will not be going back

Great place. In the middle of all the traffic between DC and Baltimore is a camping heaven. Plenty of things to do and see for day trips in either DC Or Baltimore. Nice and quite for relaxing after a day of sight seeing.

The deluxe cabin was awesome! Clean and very functional! The outdoor space was private and fun. The entire campground was well-kept and all the recreation spaces were ready for kids and families to play on. We had a great time and will be back!

Although we were only staying for one night, we found the location great. The pool was open until 9 which was great, so many pools close too early. They also had an ice cream night and movie night. We stayed in the 1 room cabin and the AC was heavenly! Cozy and tucked away in a nice shaded area.

Wish that the staff was a little more outgoing and friendly .. especially lady at front desk. We have been at other campgrounds where you could tell that the staff really loved working at their KOA.. not so much here. Oh.. and the bathrooms need to be cleaned daily.. especially when you post that they will be cleaned daily from 9-10:30.

A little disappointed that they charged an extra 5 dollars because we left 10 minutes after 12 on Sunday. We didn't hold anyone up and the fact of the matter is we were delayed about 5-10 minutes because the people in front of us were hooking up we did not have access to hook up. Overall people were friendly and will probably go back

This KOA did not meet our expectations. The one bedroom cabins were too close together. The fire pit was placed too close to where the vehicle had to be park. There were no hot waters and no WiFi. Keep all of this in consideration before you book. Make sure to read reviews!

I had a very nice stay with my family. The cabin we stayed at had a bit of an Ant problem and I felt that the KOA employees driving around the campsite did so a little too much.

Paid extra for a private cabin away from everyone since I had a large dog with me but that was not the case the location was horrible (k125) then had no power from Saturday morning until Sunday morning with no offer for another free night or some kind of refund. felt like basically get in give me your money and leave. hope this message has the koa reaching out to me.

It was a good stay. However, when we asked to have our air conditioning unit fixed, nobody came to fix it. It was a nice cabin, really secluded, quiet, and friendly staff.

Bathrooms were very far from the cabins and tent campers. Picnic tables were so beat up and not on level ground. They seemed to cater more to the RV crowd. Besides that, beautiful woods, good fire pits, friendly people, and okay showers.

Read reviews on their Facebook page before booking. Wish we would have. This KOA is owned by a franchise and they would not honor us using $50 that we had earned with KOA points. We received no noticed that the shuttle was cancelled, which was our main reason for booking this campground. 2 room camping cabin was FILTHY, ripped curtains, and stunk like BO/urine. Bathrooms were gross!

Overall we had a pleasant experience. The cabin was not clean at all, cobwebs everywhere. The bathrooms were not well ventilated and very dingy- could use with updates. Most staff members were polite and helpful with the exception of one man. He was very rude as we came into the campground one night. He was yelling at us through the window and followed us to our cabin. Felt very unsafe & concerned

Camped with family from NY. They were treated like common criminals because they were from NY. Everyone not on the same page. Needing wrist bands for the pool ? - just awful. Acted like camping there was a privilege- we paid alot to stay in these cabins and i expected better from KOA. Will not be returning to this particular KOA.

Rented 2 deluxe cabins for 10 ppl. KL2 & KL4 (KL4 bthrm has strong bad odor & yellow stains) Checking in was easy. The camp site is nice & quite. We parked our car to unload our stuff. That is when the annoyance started with this one stuff. He just circle us around nonstop with his golf cart from then on & lecturing us like we are some 9yrs old. Harassed & stacked. 5 ppl left after 1st night.

Cabin was comfortable, but the road noise made for an unpleasant outside stay. Bathrooms were clean. The staff were not overly friendly, but I did not experience any rudeness from them.

The biggest obstacle is that the main shower house had no hot water from Monday to Friday. No one informed us of this on arrival, and it took 3 days before we knew where there was hot water on site. None of the service staff were available to answer this inquiry. When we finally did find someone to explain and redirect us, it was almost an inconvenience for them to do so.

It is nice to see so many activities for the family as a whole. Very friendly and safe atmosphere. One thing though....the nature trail is very nice but needs trimming. Thank you for a great stay.

Website advertising a shuttle that hasn’t been operational since BEFORE pandemic. That was why we picked this KOA. The lifeguard was not friendly at all and didn’t enforce all rules. The other campers and rest of staff super friendly & helpful. Their website is false advertising w/ shuttle & needs to be changed.

Our premium lot was perfectly situated.. The use of the pavillion for a family gathering was affordable and easy. Having no grill is the only negative.

I have been staying almost exclusively at KOAs since the early 2000s. The Capitol KOA packs a lot of amenities into a smaller area. It was fantastic! The Staff were more than friendly and the grounds very nicely taken care of. Though I did not use many of the amenities all of the kids who were seemed to be having an amazing time. Very nice and peaceful but also very close to major areas.
