We really liked the facility. But the tent sites are too close to the freeway and made sleep difficult. The amenities are great. Definitely more of an RV spot.

Came in late and left early. Tent sites are farther from car than expected. Loved the bathroom and shower setup with privacy. Sites were big and some were shaded.

The staff were great, friendly and accommodating. Since we were the only ones tent camping they allowed us to move spots. The grounds were nice and clean as were the restrooms.

The host was very responsive to our needs. He helped us remedy a non-functioning electrical outlet in the laundry room. He also allowed us to finish watching a movie on TV in the parlor when it was time to close down for the night. We were so happy to have a nice tent site under a little tree down by the pond. We were conveniently allowed to park our car right on the grass beside the tent.

This was our second time staying here, we’re locals so it’s just a little get away for us around the corner. The staff are very kind and helpful, the grounds are beautifully maintained and our kids love the game room. Bathrooms and showers are spotless. Very nice place to stay, we will continue to go back for weekend getaways.

We had a great tent site and the kids enjoyed the game room. Other than unavoidable highway noise, it was quiet, peaceful, and a great overnight!

We stayed in a tent site which was level and very nice. I really liked being able to turn the security light out at our site at night when we were done using it. One down fall was the dog feces on my shoe due to someone not being responsible and cleaning up after their pet. Just because the area looks like it won't be used doesn't give someone the right to be lazy.

I loved this KOA. The tent sites were very scenic and peaceful, and the facilities were exactly what I needed. The only minor negative is the road noise from the nearby road.

Love the tent camping area here! Nice grassy area with lit poles to find your way in the dark. Cute little ponds. The pet area was clean and well maintained. 10/10

Beautiful grounds. Clean restrooms and bath house. Quiet. I wish it wasn't quite so close to the freeway. That traffic is noisy. $40 for a tent site is a bit outrageous, in my book, but I felt safe there in a family-friendly environment as a single woman tent camping alone.

We loved this location for our tent camping. It would have been a little better if we had been on level ground rather than a slight slope. We wished we could have stayed longer so that we could have tried out the fishing ponds. There was plenty of wildlife around to entertain your interests. The fireflies were especially entertaining.

It was easy to find. I arrived after hours and was greeted and shown to my camp site. Great facilities as well.

The camp ground was clean and welcoming. The barn was so neat to see and we loved playing games inside the barn!! The camp host was really friendly and helpful. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to camp!!

Too much road noise-which I should be use to given many of the KOA's locations. I'll stay in the Lawrence KOA on future trips.

Love Capital City, a Journey KOA, great place to stop over on travels! Saltwater pool in the summer, always have clean bathrooms. Quiet to sleep in tent or RV.

Fantastic stay! One of the best KOAs we have camped at across the country. Clean, immaculate bathrooms, shower, laundry room, and indoor entertainment area, all of which were housed in a very cool turn-of-the-century barn! Tent site was beautiful and spacious and had its own (level) picnic table, light pole, and fire pit. Most impressive was the idyllic pond and beautiful landscaping. Awesome!

All the staff we met during our stay were very thoughtful and kind. The grounds were extremely well kept. It was easy to relax and enjoy our time there. We will return to stay again, this is a nice local get away for our family and I will recommend it to anyone who enjoys camping.

Only 1 shower for entire campground so unable to use before a long day of driving. Tent spot had no car access which wasn’t expected. Booked a tent spot with electrical outlets but it was unusable due to plastic being jammed in the socket. Campground was however very clean and after hours check in was easy.

Given the only site without shade even no other tent site was reserved! The hayrides were not going. Had to overhear the AAA discount from other guest & then I asked about it & then discount applied. No coffee in the AM in office despite the limited hrs. of any assistance if one would need. Both checkin & checkout times the office is closed. Self checkin & out process is expected here I guess.

One of the better KOAs I've stayed at. Between the fishing ponds and the huge game room we all had fun. Stayed at a decent sized patio site. Worth the extra couple bucks.

My family was able to book two spots, and only a couple hours prior to us arriving. The folks at the front desk were so kind in helping us get to the right camper location and also very kind when we left in the morning. We will most likely be stopping again on our way back.
