We stayed at Surgarloaf 9 years ago and enjoyed it. We had heard about the hurricane damaging the property and it closing to rebuild but had no idea how amazing the rebuild was making the campground into more of a resort. We can't wait to return and have booked for a month next January! The staff was as amazing as the resort and everyone was so friendly! See you again soon!

Campground is well maintained with improvements being made. Everything was in excellent shape with lots of activities. We stayed for three nights and found traveling to Key West an easy drive. Rates are higher than other KOAs but consistent with other private campgrounds in the keys.

Professional staff, amenities, and facilities are very clean/brand new. We had a great experience and will return again. Best RV park I've attended and should not be a question to book.

Great place with all you need. Very helpful employees. Maybe the swimming area at the beach is a little bit small.

love it there. They would do better if they had a after dinner social time at the bar with reduced drinks from 8-9:30 pm.

First rate RV park with resort like pool and hot tub, a small but nice beach area facing the bridge at a bit of a distance. Live music or activity almost every afternoon/ evening at the poolside bar/restaurant. Casual food available. Camp sights are a good size, very well kept with lots of shrubbery providing privacy. We found it to be very quiet despite the fact that it was basically full.

Beautiful campground. Very well landscaped and maintained. Geared towards adults - all planned events are for adults. Pub onsite. For pet parents, it is not very dog friendly. Very small dog park. No green areas to walk your dogs.

We love the park! However had a mixup with our locked-in reservation. Was a lot of construction on condos that we were told were completed. Had painters spray painting porches and didn’t have plastic up and it was extremely windy. But, overall, we love the park and will be back in January, 2024.

Great pool and hot tub, great food and pub! Savannah went above and beyond for us when my husband left his ring there! Amazing place

Our camping space was nice with enough plants and trees around to make it feel like we we not too crowded. Had a little privacy and could enjoy the outdoors without being too close to others. It didn't feel like a parking lot. Thank you. We used the laundry and the machines were in great shape and did our laundry at a reasonable price. We had a great visit in the Keys!

Beautiful campground, unfortunately we can’t afford the astronomical prices. We will be looking to stay somewhere else. Best of luck!

The dog park was a joke. 80% of the dogs we saw (including ours) were a large breed (Great Danes, Labradoodles, ect) and it was nowhere near big enough for these dogs. It also smelled of urine no matter what time of day we went. Way too undersized. The sites are also way too crammed together. The pool heater was also broken for 5 or our 7 days and nothing was offered in terms of a discount.

Although the weather didn’t cooperate as well as we’d like, the park was clean, staff helpful and polite and the bonus was the cafe snack bar food. Our only disappointment would be the amount of golf cart traffic. We’ll be back next January!

Best of the best. Friendly and very courteous staff. Our 2 month stay was fabulous. Recommended to anyone to be in the middle of everything.

The campground location is prime. Landscaping is beautiful and provides privacy to each RV spot. The public areas pool, beach, pub, marina have superior amenities. All hook ups and bathrooms are equipped with modern facilities. The entire grounds are maintained flawlessly.

Beautiful well kept resort, great service. But the biting insects (even in the middle of day) made it so we don’t want to comeback. Was at two other resorts in the southern keys where the bugs we much better.

Beautiful campsite. Nicely laid out. A little tight getting into the site 508 due to the heavy foliage surrounding it. The KOA needs to trim back the foliage a lot. Had trouble finding the sewer hookups because they were so overgrown. Pool was extremely clean and so was the hot tub. The employees there were extremely friendly and helpful. Had a pull through site. Had 3 of there employees guide me.

We had to extend our stay due to my husband's illness. Nikki in the front office bent over backwards to get us 4 extra days. Eric and Danielle in the Cafe kept me fed with delicious food and Kim and Ashley from the bar kept me well "hydrated " while my husband recovered...Ashley was even sweet enough to bring me some bananas so I wouldn't have to venture out. We can't wait to come back next year!

We love the quality of the service, the facilities and location! Debbie checked us in and out and she was excellent: very helpful, gave great recommendations on area "must sees," etc. We booked 3 nights, but unfortunately, we experienced a mechanical problem in our RV that required us to leave a day early. Debbie was very gracious and understanding and gave us a refund for the 3rd night.

I was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Staff were all professional and super friendly. The ground s and pool/hot tub were very well cared for. Will definitely stay here again.

Park was absolutely beautiful and the folks that work there were extremely helpful. I did pay for the upgrade for the waterfront sites which adds to the experience, highly recommended.

My stay was magical. I brought my jet skiis, adventure bikes and travel trailer/toy hauler. The grounds were immaculate. There was always an abundance of staff to help with anything that might have been a problem. I rode my bicycle on the grounds. The pool and hot tub were conveniently located next to the bar/restaurant. The store was very well equipped with things you may have forgotten.

Was an amazing 1st time visit! Beautiful sites, friendly staff, great amenities and good value for what you get! The only recommendation that we would make is to have the amazing jacuzzi be for adults only.

My husband and I just got back from our stay at Sugarloaf. It was everything we have been told and more. From check in to check out, the staff was always there to help with a smile. The grounds are amazing. There is not a bad spot, every site is clean and well maintained. The pool is beautiful, live music and bar area is very nice and the store has everything you would need if something was forgotten. We met so many wonderful fellow campers and we've booked for next year.

Everyday in the Keys are PARADISE!!! This island resort has 2 beautiful new hotels with large suites to accommodate your family. Fully stocked Marina for all your fishing needs,also has boats, paddle boards, kayaks, bikes, pedal carts for rent. Sandy Beach with loungers and inflatable water floats to play on. The pool is so well landscaped you wouldn't believe your in the middle of a RV resort!!!! There's a enormously large hot tub, lounge areas around gas fire pits, hammocks hidden in the beautiful lounge area to just relax in the shade and forget about everything. The Pub,Store & Cafe are great amenities and all centrally located by the pool. This is Glamping in the Island Keys!!!!

I almost don't want to review this KOA because everyone will want to go. This is an AMAZING campground. The staff work tirelessly to keep the park clean and they are all super friendly and helpful. The amenities are outstanding from the activities, rental items( boats, kayaks, bikes) to the full liquor BAR and live music. The camp store has everything if you forgot to pack something and offer quick bites to eat. The location is perfect for a quick day trip to Key West. Can't wait to go back!
