Campground Reviews

Excellent place for our van. We only needed an electric hookup. I hope the prices do not increase as the price was a bit high for just electric hookup but they seem to be the only game in town for overnight parking. Great staff that is super helpful.

The staff was welcoming and made sure we had the info we needed for the duration of our stay. The very snowy sites were maintained and level. The facilities were very clean. We are looking forward to vacationing there again.

Great, comfortable and efficient cabins in the most beautiful, winter setting!

Nice stay, campground in good condition despite the high amount of snow. Bathrooms were not cleaned during our stay. Toilets and showers needed cleaning.

It was our first time at KOA. Be honest- we were a bit hesitant to book it. But it turned out to be a really nice. Even thought campsite was narrow due to amount of snow in Steamboat we love it. As we are here for the skiing! Showers are good. Bathroom was clean. Store has a lot of camping stuff. We even fill propane tank there. Staff is so friendly and helpful!!! And bus stop right there.

We couldn’t be happier with the treatment we received from everyone at the KOA. We had frozen fuel lines and a dead battery due to -27 temps. The owner, Bob, went out and bought jumper cables so he could jump us. He also brought us a tarp with a heater to heat the engine so we could start our van, JD gave us an extra heater he had, and Shannon figured out a way to extend our stay. 10 stars!

It was everything promised. They had record breaking snow and the Kia was plowed and I was able to get my truck camper in ok. Bathrooms were reasonably clean and the free bus to town stops at the camp so that’s super convenient.

They had a water issue, which is to be expected when it's freezing and negative temperatures. However, they got it taken care of and it was a minor inconvenience.

This was a nice KOA to stay at. Clean bathrooms and laundry room, well maintained grounds and friendly staff. Close to town and ski area.

We rented a cabin with 2 bedrooms and one bath. It is listed as sleeping 6. There is a fold out couch. The kitchen is nicely appointed with dishes, pots and pans, silverware, etc. Towels were soft and nice. Blankets were good on the queen bed, the twins could use an extra blanket in the winter. We would stay here again. The staff was very friendly.

Facilities were very clean and warm! (A huge benefit in the winter!) The roads on the property and the spaces were well plowed even with the very heavy snowfall they had the evening we were there.

We booked very last minute and Shannon in the office was amazing and beyond helpful and kind helping get us settled and making sure we had the information we needed for a lovely stay!

We stayed in cabin L104, which is on the river, and beautiful. staff super sweet. Very clean! Only one parking space. The cabin holds 6. but pull out couch is uncomfortable. Stove had timer of 10 minutes to cook and then you had to reset it, which made it hard to cook. Bring crockpots. If you like coffee, bring your own coffee pot too. Only 4 chairs at table, would love more hooks to hang cloth

Great, except for the brown water coming from the hookup. Don't know if it was caused by rust or other, but it was smelly too... Otherwise: clean facilities, and set up on the Yampa so with beautiful views.

Staff was friendly, property seems well maintained but bathrooms could use update. Many seasonal tenants Put a heavy strain on the bathrooms and showers, would probably warrant considering opening a second option if available.

I definitely like the location however I would not recommend winter stays here. The site was not cleared wide enough so we spent a solid hour trying to get it where we could put our steps down. On the way out the entrance had been cleared but not the road in so there was a drop off that broke one of my campers leaf spring going down it. The entrance/exit should be a priority in my opinion.

Big sites, clean and warm bathrooms, hot water! The roads were plowed daily within the campground. The camp hosts were super nice! I loved it here.

We stayed at in a deluxe cabin and had a very enjoyable stay. The KOA staff contacted us prior to check in to let us know how to go about after hours check in, we really enjoyed the pro-active approach to this. They made the check-in/out process extremely simple. The cabin was very nice and clean. The property was well kept and they even shoveled the snow each day which was really nice!

We really likes this campground. We had a good amount of privacy and it wasn't a long walk from anywhere to the showers. It looks like it would be a great place to stay in the summer.

Warm and clean bathrooms - we stayed in the winter with about 2-1/2 feet of snow for a Hockey Tournament - with electric only. Roads were plowed. Will stay again!

Perfect winter camping experience. Love how clean and well kept the bathrooms are. Kids had a blast on the snowy playground

There are no signs anywhere in the loop, but somehow we got called and told we couldnt park on a certain space, and then while driving counter-clockwise in the loop I was told it's a one way and I was going the wrong way - but if that was the case I would be going the correct way in a loop. Everything in the cabins was fine there was just weird communications with the staff people, need signs!

Unit L106 has poor access to the back deck- the only access is through the interior of the unit. We felt like we were infringing upon unit L107 every time we accessed our back deck by using their walkway. This is one of the worst units (in my opinion). People should know that if the power goes out, so does all water. During the power outage this last week, 4 adults couldn't use a toilet. Not cool.

Beautiful campground with lots of amenities. My son had a camping spot and I had a deluxe cabin-both were awesome. The cabin was cleaned and well-maintained, with kitchen supplies, toilet paper and soap. Staff were great, contacting us to give details for late check-in. Store next to office is great!

Great option to stay in town in the winter. We travel in our Sprinter 144 and there are not a lot of options for stealth camping in the winter. On one of our nights the temp dropped dramatically and well below the forecast. Woke up with a nearly dead battery and some diesel that was gelled. The staff supplied me with a trickle charger and a propane heater to point towards the undercarriage. Got the engine running in now time. The guys there helped me out big time.
